Lucid dreaming?

A couple of friends and I were talking about lucid dreaming. Anybody have any better knowledge of it?

I hate to say this, but if you're just looking for information, perhaps you should go somewhere else. (Or you could have even searched the forums for previous threads that would have answered your question.)

Lucid dreaming always seemed pretty interesting to me. I've had one or two before, and it was a fun experience. However, you can have lucid nightmares and I have an acquaintance who suffered from sleep paralysis as a result of lucid dreaming. I've been told that lucid dreaming makes for a less effective rest, but I'm not sure if that's actually true.

I have never had a lucid dream in my life.

This is my stance on it : just like a little kid's imagination flying all over the place.
(You can't understand what I'm saying by this.)

There was a whole episode of "Ed" dedicated to lucid dreaming. Supposedly if you eat certain combinations of foods before you go to bed you have a better chance of having a lucid dream. But I don't know if its a farce or not.

I've never had a fully lucid dream. Really just dreams that I've made decisions not necessarily did whatever I wanted.

So that's what it's called. Well lucid dreaming rules! You can make yourself fly and stuff, it's great. Although once I remember knowing it was a dream so I went outside to start flying and I couldn't do it, I just ran around in circles (I think flapping my arms). I guess my imagination is a huge failure.

I tend to realize I'm dreaming if I see something that defies logic, like say I dream I'm in my living room and the carpet is gray instead of brown or there's a green elephant standing there Sometimes I don't realize I'm dreaming until right as I'm waking up.

I lucid dream a lot. But a simple SEARCH would have told you that.
