Lucas vs King DeDeDe Technique

This is probably fairly well known, but I thought I would make a topic anyway.

When fighting DDD, your opponent may like to spam that move that throws all those red Kirby things out, sometimes one with a single large eye will pop out - these are great for Lucas and Ness because they shoot out an electric bolt thing. Using down B you can absorb around 60% health from these.

Hmm never thought about that. Too bad I usually end up killing them by accident. Could be useful every once in a while if you've got Dedede out of the way and have some time for some free health.

Yeah, they give quite a bit ... Although it's not enough to save me against my Dedede playing opponent, who happens to be the most difficult opponent I face with Lucas. personally, I usually use Ness, since he can absorb, and also use PK Fire as a shield to stop the Waddle-dee spamming.

Protip against spammers: if you KNOW they're going to throw one, roll through it as early as possible, giving you a touch of frame advantage and moving you into close quarters for some f-tilts.

This is nice...if you can smack the dedede away for a bit beforehand. Otherwise, the absorption keeps you in place just long enough for you to be punished.

Can't PKT go through the minions and fry DDD?
Getting health off the Wallde Doos = win.

usually I find that dedede's edge guarding is the toughest for lucas. However if you use his Zap Jump plus b-stick to get some distance you should recover without having to use his PKT2 at all.

Another with the waddle dees, usually air dodging helps the most (I think). Because if dodge at the right time you should have enough time to gain some good amount of distance.

Zap Jump is way too risky. You might as well just do PKT2 because you're likely to hit him on the way up anyway.
