I know that most of its uses have been discovered already, but I have two questions about it. Does the hitbox extend below the sphere at all, and does the hitbox last for the extent of the time you use it, or just for a second or so after you activate it?

I've done some extensive testing with the hitbox, and I've found that the hitbox is EXACTLY the circle of the orb in the center of the attack.

Also, the hitbox actually "hits" when you turn the attack off, not when you first engage the attack.

When you turn it off, eh? I'll have to use that. Can it be used to edgeguard?

The good thing about using PSI Magnet as an edge guard over Fair is that PSI Magnet can be held until the appropriate moment, and on release it hits within 1 frame.

yeah, but this is like the difference between using melee marth's fair to edgeguard and sheik's fair to edgeguard. Less range, but better trajectory.

I also like the dair.

I wouldn't recommend using psi magnet to edgeguard. The best attacks for edgeguarding are fair and bair. dair is too hard to spike them with. I also use pkt, 2 hits with that attack kills them off almost everytime. That is my favorite edgeguard.

D-air isn't a bad edgeguard. It's not necessarily used to spike. It has 3 hits to it and good range and priority, so it can cancel moves pretty well and just hit them. Personally, I favor PKT. Good range, nice hits and trajectory.
