Request Lowered,less laggy competitive stages for netplay

Does this exist? I have a laptop (no, can't get a better one) that can run melee decently, but not that good. It's too laggy to run on anther's ladder. So is there a code out there that can, say, remove the complicated graphics of maps such as FOD and Yoshi's, remove the backgrounds on say FD and battlefield, and just simply simplify the graphics to allow for a performance boost.

Many stages have codes that increase performance but the issue is that they desync. Your opponent would have to enable them as well and I don't think you'll have good luck with that.

Check out the Melee Netplay Community Build.
There's some modifications to a few of the stages like FoD that make them more playable on older systems wanting to participate in netplay.
