So I was messing around in a bit against a level 9, and I decided to try to have a match at x0.6 damage ratio. This resulted in grabs sending them barely far at all, as well as other attacks as well.

It seemed to be as if getting followups was easier.

But was that my imagination? Or does lower damage ratio actually make combos so much more possible?

And if so, why do some people that want a combo-heavy game, not use that lower damage ratio feature? =O

You will get more combos by increasing everyone's weight but it's meaningless if they are right back at being uncombo-able in the midrange once they are out of hitstun.

Because that just creates a lot more problems than it "solves."

For one, lower damage ratios means characters live far longer, which is kind of completely counter-productive to what you're trying to accomplish with combos.

Besides, eventually, characters will be once again un-combo-able later on in the fight, while being no closer to being K.O'd than they'd be while playing normally. You'd just end up with the exact same game, but far more slower paced.
