So I've been toying around with Sheik. Against CPU no less, since I have no one to play with where I am and would like to at least have tech skill for when I decide to head to a tourney or move to a location with players.

I've been noticing that doing reliable damage with sheik from anything other than a grab at low percents is very difficult, because anything you use gets you smacked back due to lack of stun. Is there any safe options excluding say Needle and Grabs, and what would the follow ups be? Any decent combos at lower percents you recommend that work on most of the cast? What about the exceptions? I'd especially like to know this info against characters Sheik can't CG. My experience with her is moderate so I'm just learning her ins and outs now. Any external advice is also welcomed. Thanks.

So you're looking for a reliable way to build up damage at low percents that doesn't involve a grab or needles? I guess tech-chasing wouldn't count, then.

Spaced fairs are pretty safe against characters like Peach. At low percents an ftilt works wonders. You just have to be wary of CCing. So at really low percents, fair > ftilt > anything is pretty reliable. Ftilts chain well with fair in general, but uair and dair are great for combos at low percents. So ftilt > dair/uair > another aerial has some viability.

At medium low to medium percents, fair > dash attack > any aerial is a reliable combo.

Spaced tilts are the best bet on getting the percents up. Then finishing with a Fair. Or continuing to ravk damage with another aerial. Dash attack sets up for either more Dash Attacks or a Fair. Sheik as a damage racker is all about being creative about your weaker moves.

Against the CCing opponents: It's easier to just grab insted of hitting a CCing opponent. That way you know you won't get punished for any missed spacing and also tech chasing is another easy way to rack damage. 9 times out of 10 they never expect a grab when they're CCing for the first few times done on them. Then they see you're going for more grabs they'll drop the CCing strat eventually and start to go evasive.

I find that against some characters, mainly spacies, captain falcon, and sometimes marth, you can ftilt the crap out of them. Use good spacing and you can get off 6 or 7 really good ftilts. If the DI or just air dodge out of it you can always crouch and dsamsh or dtilt or just grab. Also the at the right moment after the ftilt when they reach about 40 to 50 dam you can just fair them right off the edge (since your ftilt has been moving you towards the edge anyway)
