Losing faith in marth for the falcon matchup

I've been playing competitively for about a year and a half, and just started actually taking tourney sets recently. I've mained Marth the whole time, and I've gotten pretty comfortable with every matchup except falcon. I feel like I lose to falcon players with significantly lower skill level than me. And it's not a lack of experience in the matchup, I've played a LOT of falcons. Today I was at a smashfest and I was consistently losing to this falcon main. Then on a whim I switched to falco and I beat him twice in a row. My falco is absolutely terrible, I can't consistently do his bread and butter tech, I've never practiced falco or studied any pro falco videos, and yet I did better against falcon with falco than my marth. I'm pretty sure my marth would 4 stock my falco.

So I'm on the fence about picking up a falco secondary as a falcon counter. I've always been a proponent of sticking to your main, but I'm starting to feel like marth really doesn't cut it for me against falcon. If my completely untrained falco can already do better in the matchup, it seems that with practice the secondary could make a huge difference. On the other hand, I'd be splitting my practice time between two characters just to cover one matchup. Also I suspect the falcon matchup may get better for me as my reactions and punish game get better. Also I may be doing worse than I should against falcon because I hate the matchup that I just get frustrated and it's hard to concentrate.

What are your thoughts on the matchup? On having secondaries or going all marth?

Falcon has a lot of easy to execute punishes on marth, so at a lower level of play the matchup can sometimes look really one sided when he kills reliably and marth lets falcon live to 120+ without getting a stray Fmash.

I think as you get better the matchup becomes less of an issue. Smooth out your punish game and it shouldn't be that bad, personally I don't think it's any worse than 55:45 falcon advantage, maybe even.

The MU gets infinitely easier once you know how to get Falcon off stage. Then it's basically 90:10 Marth looooool

DD grabs leads to tech chases, which leads to dtilts, leads to Falcon off stage, leads to Falcon has terribad recovery > Marth has a long pokey stick
