Loot Crate is going to do Nintendo Amiibo crates

Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing, said of today’s news:
“Featuring compatibility with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors this year, amiibo figures are shaping up to be one of the year’s must-have holiday items. Fans around the country already enjoy Loot Crate’s approach to delivering cool new items every month, and now they have a new and convenient way to get their hands on amiibo.”
Loot Crate CEO Chris Davis also commented:
“We are honored to be working with Nintendo – a company that our team loves and respects, and that many of us grew up with. The iconic Super Smash Bros. games have brought people together for years, and we’re excited to become a part of that story in a new way through our amiibo Subscription Service.”

SWEET! Just a quick question though, will I need to subscribe now to lootcrate to get the items or will I when the amiibo/Lootcrate promotion starts in a few days?

I shared it on facebook.
This is awesome. I was only planning on getting yoshi, but if this is a cheaper route ti get amiibos, then I'll try it!

If the price is right, I'm all for it. Seems like a cool deal, where I may not have purchased these Amiibos otherwise.

This will all depend on what the packages ultimately include as to whether or not is is cost effective. As it is, a single month, after shipping & all that, is more than just buying an amiibo.

So each package will need to include some pretty cool stuff. Like people don't like amiibo for $13, I'm not going to be all that jazzed about $20 for an amiibo and some stickers with SSB logos and fan made crap. They basically need to come up with at least 10 unique SSB crates. And worthwhile ones at that.

So this has potential to be really cool or really lame. I signed up for the mailing list for it, but we'll see what they end up doing.

My girlfriend got me Lootcrate last christmas. It has been a great way to get lots of fun nerdy things. But I pre-ordered a lot of the amiibos listed already. Do I get different stuff now?

I subscribed and clicked the validation link and all. I hope they give the details soon, I don't want to end up forking out money for something I don't want or may not even ship to Ireland.

I've signed up for the mailing list, because I am interested in the idea, but I need to know what I'm getting and how much it will cost first. If I could knock out my Amiibo wish list (which coincidentally consists of 10) at a discounted price, I'll subscribe in a heartbeat (but Loot Crate doesn't exactly work that way from what I understand, so that might be a problem...)

Information is in. The crate contains 10 amiibo figures:

Donkey Kong
Yoshi
Mario
Kirby
Pikachu
Peach
Fox
Samus
Zelda
Luigi

All for the low, low price of ~155-165 dollars (depending on if you choose to pay all at once or over a three-week period) :\

You also get some other random "exclusive and super rare items," but it doesn't seem worth it. Oh well.

Amiibo cost 13 USD a piece.

13 dollars x 10 = 130 dollars.

It's cheaper to buy them all individually.
