Looking to find a Tournament scene in/near Alexandria, VA

I'm about 40 minutes outside Alexandria
Haven't seen any tournaments in Virginia though
I have thought about starting a annual tournament, however I have not gotten around to actually doing it.

I found a tournament in our general area

Another tournament in our general area (about an hour out from where I am) is the Xanadu tournament (might've spelled that wrong) I couldn't find much on it but I heard about it during the Apex livestream

Again Xanadu is the closest in Northern VA or Charolettesville

I live in Fairfax, about 10 to 15 minutes out from Alexandria. Actually used to live in that area. Definitely interested in getting involved in tournaments, specifically organizing. Zebkeet, have you found anything else in our area? I've been looking around and have been SOL thus far.

I've been to that Hard Times, it's literally right off of the Clarendon metro stop next to all of the other bars. It says the next event is TBA but it's closer than Charlottesville at least.

Idk how much you guys are willing to travel but we have tournaments in Sova(Va Beach) to be exact.
I have my own vehicle and I'm willing to travel for sure. It'd be even better if I had other people to travel with to split gas/expenses. Virginia Beach is a nice area, I've been around there a lot. Do you know who would be the people to contact about maybe helping set up and organizing the event?

Yea if you could get people to come with you I'm sure it'll be easier. But there is already an event. I'm trying to get more people down here. There's definitely some decent competition. Here's a link:

I'm at school right now, but I'm actually closer to VA Beach than I normally would be. I have a pretty full schedule in the upcoming weeks but if it's every Friday I'd definitely be willing to make a trip and bring some kids from around here up there to play. I've got a setup, but don't have a GC adapter, does that matter?

I would bring the set up if possible. Not only is the venue fee cheaper but I do believe we have some people with extra adapters. Not too sure about that tho

I'm in the Woodbridge area and I'm gauging interest to get people out of their houses and into a venue out here to play friendlies and get the community connected. My main focus is Smash 4 (3DS/Wii U) but all smashers are welcome. If anyone in or near Woodbridge wants to come out and play let me know!

As far as the current scene goes, I'm poking around my neck of the woods and it's pretty quiet on the smash front. I've heard of weekly tournaments out in Gainesville VA every Wednesday, and there was a large tournament last year at Hard Times Cafe in the Manassas area called Bar Wars:The Region Strikes Back.
I'll try and reach back out to you if and when I find more. If you're on facebook also check out the "MDVA Smash" group. Also I've got some friends up in Arlington who play too so if you want to meet up there sometime and play 3DS friendlies or try and find a venue for Wii U I'll try and help out and get us all connected.

Obviously this one passed but I would call that store asap and see how often they do tournaments. Like I said, I heard it's weekly but I work night hours during the week so I've never been to one of these joints.

Loudoun County (just west of Sterling) reporting in. Would love to participate in some WiiU tourneys around the area, wifi just doesn't quite cut it. Xanadu is just too far away.

I'm in Alexandria and am also looking for things I can get to without taking fifteen buses and a ferry. Preferably Melee but I enjoy whatever. I'm be happy to help with expenses if it means getting a ride to somewhere I can't get to via metro. Finding some local people to play casually with would be awesome too.

I'm hosting a 3rd Smash Bros. session Sunday March 8 from 1pm-5pm at Flashback Game Shop. First four players to message me and RSVP, I'll cover your table fee if you come within the first hour. (Normal cost is $4 Per player.)

I'm not free during weekdays because of school, but I can arrange something on sunday if you like!
Riverside apartments is a bit far away from my place, so I don't know how difficult it would be to get there. I live in EOS 21!
Also i'm a minor so the distance kinda complicates my transport options haha

Dude, im literally right next to riverside. There are 2 tournament that I know of that happen week round near my location:
-There is a place known as Nova Knockout in Rockville, Maryland. They have weekly melee tournaments on Friday at 7pm and Smash 4 tournaments every day on Saturday. Doors open at 10:00AM, Check-in is at 11:00PM, and the tourney starts at 12:00PM. The tournament is hosted but the legendary Chudat himself and, more or less, maybe participating in the brackets (I know for a fact he plays in the melee brackets)
-Too Far Away? Go to a place called "The Cave." They host smash 4 tournaments on Thursdays but at the end of every month, they host a smash4 tournament on Saturdays. Its a place in Fairfax, Virginia not too far from the DMV area. They also host melee tourneys on Mondays but the time to me is unknown.
