It's usually hard to get melee copies from players since we are all very attached to our personal game discs. You'd have to look at the usual sources, craigslist, local ebay, facebook marketplace and other similar apps/platforms. Look everywhere and be patient, maybe set up some sort of notification if you can.

If you just want to play melee, I highly recommend buying a used wii and softmodding it, it's the cheapest way of playing melee and gives you the option to also play hacked game images. Softmodding a wii is very easy, Kadano made an excellent guide here. You can get used wiis for less than 40$, much less if you get a good deal.

Thanks! Found a bid for a disk that is currently at 23.00 dollars with one bidder and only e days left. Is that a good deal.

23$ would certainly be a good deal. I don't know what the usual prices are, but I heard they are getting pretty crazy. Especially in America.
You're not gonna get the game for 23$ though. Most people only bid at the last minute. Look at bids that are about to expire, that's the price you'd have to compete with.
You're not gonna get a good deal on ebay bids, too people and bots watch those.
The only good deals are the local-only postings for your area. Check all apps and platforms that you know and take some time if you really want a good deal.

Again, used wiis are much cheaper if you just want to play the game.
