Looking forward to "maining" someone?

So, everyone is gonna check out all the new characters in Brawl and even what's new with the old ones. (foxes expect to be sad) And yes, we might find some characters that are cool, but near unplayable. (i.e. mewtwo in melee) But say that for once they ACTUALLY balanced everyone out and everyone seems to be very playable. As unlikely as this is, who do you plan on using as a main? I personally think Snake's move set/movement/etc is simply awesome. And unless some other character convinces me further, I'm going to plan to main him.

I just want to get a general idea what characters are going to be favored over others. I'm guessing Pit is going to be a fan favorite. I'm going to mark down for each vote, since I'm not high enough on the cool meter to be able to make a poll.

I'm going to place them on this list in order of number of votes. I would appreciate it if everyone would stop by here and say who they main or favor before having any knowledge of actual play skill. (i also think this thread will be interesting to look back on after about a year from now, when Brawl has started to form an early tier list.)

If everyone was balanced I'd use DK most likely because he is my favorite video game character. Though, I can't really say; I'd probably uses the character I had the best feel with.

I'm definately maining snake, even if he's the worst in the game.

I think wario will be a sleeper hit though.

You can't just CHOOSE a main, you have to work with the game and see what your style is. Get a feel for all the characters, try them out, and see how they work with your playstyle.

Of course, you can just choose someone you think looks cool and roll with it, but you'll probably end up choosing someone else once you play a little more. If not, it's just coincedence.

Did you real the first post? He said to assume that the game is perfectly balanced. It's more a question of what character do you want to use the most rather than who you plan on using the most.

In my case it's Diddy. I love monkeys. He also looks like he may be pretty fun to use.

#3. If you had read carefully, in the OP i clearly state that yes, we are all going to try out all the characters to see who we'll like. No need to repeat things.

Unless your going by looks alone of course, which isn't deserving of it's own topic.

Your post would be a lot more relevant if you didn't start off by saying that the whole thread was ridiculous. If you don't want to contribute to a thread then don't. If you want to give your opinion about the topic without really contributing, that can be ok too. Just don't belittle people by calling their topic pointless in the process.

Ike looks cool too, but it's to early for my to really tell... I'll try him out... from the looks of him right now, he looks to be suited towards my style. he's like the mercenary class isn't he? thats my favorite class, so if he fights anything like they would I'll probably like him.

Maybe it's just me but I've never been able to have a 'main' in any of these games other than Kirby. Even when they made him basically a punching bag in Melee it still never felt right using the other characters.
