looking for people to play melee online with me

i know there is probably threads where people have said the same thing before. but i wanted to know if anybody would want to play with me and help me get better. if i play just random people online i dont know ill get destroyed and disrespected since im really new to melee

Playing against random people is fine. You'll have a greater variety of opponents meaning you won't learn to only counter specific things. I'm pretty sure that close to no one would disrespect you. I don't play Melee online, but from playing other online fighting games, that's the experience I got. I recommend using a wired connection to reduce lag

alright...i just wasn't sure what i would get from random people. i kinda wanted to play with a person for a while so he/she could show me the ropes in a more controlled environment is all
