New to the game, want to get very good quickly and willing to pay. Is there a good thread that exists with details on paid coaching and options/contacts?

If not, PM me, I'm interested in regular sessions.

Thanks!

Top players are starting to give lessons on their streams. If you really feel that the cost is suitable, that may be worth checking out.

A lot of basic stuff can be self-taught. Learning how to learn well is a good thing to have.

If you are new to the game, you should learn the basics on your own first. In Smash, pretty much everything can be self-taught and there are resources everywhere.

I'd say you are wasting your money on pro lessons if you don't have a decent grasp of the game already. The utility of pro lessons is giving insights on your play, but you have to be able to do essential things like use your character and understand how the game works first.

Thanks, what resources are best then? Don't care about the money, however. Would just like for someone to walk me through everything. Any takers?

Just start playing against computers to get the basics (by trying things against them and also learning the other character's abilities at the same time) or look at one of the several youtube begineer guides. Such as here and here. For a quick rundown of Smash Theory you can go here.

Is this your first smash game? Is this your first attempt to be competitive at a game?

Why are you in such a rush to learn the game?
Before bothering to waste your hard earned money on someone to teach you how to play this game, you should check to see if you're really gonna stick with it.
Play some Classic Mode. All Star. Unlock all the characters. Play For Fun. For Glory. Play a bunch of characters and start with the ones you actually like instead of trying out the ones at the top of the tier list first. Learn how to play the game first, and see if this is something you'd actually like to play in a serious competition.
After you enjoyed the game, after you found your main and a secondary, after you're sure this is a game you're gonna play, then I'd say you can look for a coach if you wanna. Zero does a 1 hour coaching session for 50$, if you're interested in learning from him.
