Looking for Falco excercises to practice

So I've been practicing "competitive" style melee for almost a year now.
My hands are finally getting used to putting in multiple inputs reasonably.
I practice an hour a day, or 6 sets of 10 minutes on either Battlefield or FD
The biggest problem I've encountered with practicing the way I do is that unless I put on my rap music playlist, I don't have motivation to practice an hour a day. So forums, I ask for one of two things;
Give me awesome Falco music (Yes, I like electronic music)
AND/OR
Hit me up with any Falco excercises that you might use to
a.) warm up
b.) prepare for a match
c.) master control of movement

An honest rough assessment of my tech skill:
I am 45% on L-canceling I suffer against shielded opponents and anything that isn't really shffl'd
70% on Wavedashing I can move around the stages freely, but I still choke. Trouble wavelanding (sometimes)
1% on Wallteching zero experience teching a ledge intentionally.
15% on LedgeCanceling I can do this out of side-B on platforms on Pokemon Stadium and Battlefield
60-70% Shinedashing I can do this in practice consistently, execute it in a match, but its still forced
20% Lasershines I can do this if I force it, but my lasers are too high

I'm a noob, but I've been to a couple tournaments, so I see what I am supposed to be doing.
All these weird percentages might mean something to some of you if you plan on recommending something for me to practice. I guess Id say I'm working most on controlling my character and getting him to do what I want.

Im currently working on shffl'd drillshine to shinedash. I am also practicing doubleshines and my double laser recovery using claw

When you talk about shinedashing do you mean wavedashing out of a shine or dash into jump cancelled shine?
Ratatat is legit the best music to practice to by the way not sure if that'll be your flavor but it's legit

but if your as grimy as dashizwiz than http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmCtI6R0ccE

but yea a good exercise is to when playing friendlies, limit your moves to like 2 or 3
this will help you learn the many different applications of that move

i personally need help getting out of the "button presser" cancer **** that all mono techskill players have so doing stuff that helps you understand your hitboxes better like literally forcing yourself to do one move in neutral game definitely is a good rehab assignment for all spacies lol

I think this is a great idea. I have yet to put it into motion, but I will def try it.
Yeah I play with the same two friends almost every day for 1-2 hours straight on top of my practice, so I will apply this then.
Among my two regular smash friends, I am probably the most technically sound player. Our fox doesn't know how to wavedash, and our Marth can barely L-cancel.
Even though I am more technical, they are still just as good at connecting and understanding spacing as I am - better even, since they focus less on tech skill.

I really like SHFFLing and then waveshining out of it. Also just kinda dashdancing around shooting lasers, anything that'll warm up your hands. Nothing kills technical skill like cold hands.

I warm up my hands with shine > short-hop cancel > aeriel/laser > lcancel > shine rinse n repeat. I learned to short hop with control stick too. being able to do that really balances the load your right hand carries. mostly useful for short-hop out of shine

oh also doing that exercise while moving or 'DI'ing in the air (and if you can) short-hop with control stick will really help improve with control stick control (I don't know how to say that without it sounding funny :p)

I will definitely try more applications of the control stick . Thanks!

I've got a suggestion. You know how you've got consistency issues with your tech skill? I think it would really help if you took just ONE of the tech skills you can't do consistently and try to perform that tech skill all over the place in as many situations as possible. Hitting an opponent, off of platforms, empty space, etc

Then, make a list of every single situation happening on the screen where you mess up that tech skill

Then, recreate every situation in the game you noticed where you are messing up over and over with your tech skill.

Then, spend all of your time and energy trying to figure out how to do it correctly in each situation where your tech skill is failing
You keep doing this for every inconsistency you ran across with your particular tech move until you have no inconsistencies left in all of your tech moves and you can do it all over the place.
The idea is if you remove the situations where you are messing up, you won't have any situations where you are messing up which will = fluent tech skill in all of your KNOWN situations that you use it in
I think spending only an hour practicing all of falcos tech skill at once without really focusing on individual hiccups in each individual tech move when so much of his tech skill is inconsistent won't be really effective in addressing all the inconsistency problems your tech skill is having.

I would also say try to bump it up to 2 hours instead of 1.

Then again some players I know got consistent just by doing it a lot instead of breaking it down and analyzing the mistakes like I do. Try either or and see what works for you
