This might sound a bit odd. Perhaps even far fetched. I'm a fairly new player to melee, I've been playing the smash series for years and I've fallen in love with Melee and the competetive scene as of late.

So much so that I want to get good enough to win APEX 2017.

This will take a lot of hard work and practice, and a lot of dedication, but I'm more than ready to put the effort in. This game inspires me like no other and I have a passion to be one of the best.

That's why I come to you. I need help to progress and learn the game to the utmost degree. I have quite a few friends in the smashing community where I'm at, but I'm looking for something more. I need direction, and I need help.

I've been getting more into the habit of practicing and studying higher play, trying to develop my own playstyle and my technical skill, although as I've said I am fairly new to the scene so I am still learning quite a few of the techniques. This is where I need the most assistance. I want to be one of the best Smash players in the next 5 years, and I plan wholeheartedly to work as hard as I can to make that dream come true.

I'm not only looking for a coach but for training partners. I want to make this happen and without some help I don't know if that can happen. Which is why I come to you all. I realize this is a big thing to undergo and to prepare for but I believe I can do it. If anybody is willing I'm more than ready to listen and learn.

Get netplay, and maybe that will help you reach players over the internet. Ask some good players in your area if you can.

Btw, I don't see any new player starting now, and winning apex in 2 years. I know that I have the same kind of dream, but realistically, you are going to have to put in a lot more time to even be a contender.

Good luck man

Might as well dream big if I have a chance of ever getting there, right?
No point in downing myself. I can succeed as far as I can push myself.
And like I said, I want to. Not that it'll happen persay. My goal is to become the best in the next 5 years, and I'll take whatever steps I need to do so. Pushing yourself is only limited by what you set your parameters to, and mine are for the sky and beyond.

It's gonna be tough trying to win Apex 17 in just 2 years but one of my main suggestions is play against people that are better than you and ask them for tips. Sorta try it the KDJ way but just don't spend 100's of dollars :)

I could also give you tips if you want and possibly netplay if you wanted.
PM me, if you want.

I'm not going to lie, I have a similar dream but like others have already mentioned, it's going to be incredibly difficult, especially if you're a Doc main. Just keep having regular sparring sessions with your friends and try to attend as many local tournaments as you can. Even if you lose a lot, just learn from your mistakes and keep playing. Keep watching videos on competitive matches also, and see what the best players are doing in order to win.

I also recommend you practice your advanced tech for at least an hour a day when alone. I've been doing this for quite some time now and it's helped a lot with my overall movement. Also if you have a good computer, you might want to start playing the game online, though I wouldn't know anything about that.
