Looking For Brawl Play Group in Portland Area

Hello =) I was pointed here by a friend concerning a question I had. Since it's easier, I thought I'd just quote myself:

So, I showed up at a tourny about a few days ago with my girlfriend - we didn't have the money to actually participate, but we thought we would join in on the friendlies before the matches started.

We ended up leaving 15 minutes in.

Unfortunately, no one there was very friendly, and my girlfriend and I aren't that great - we just haven't had the experience playing other people - so we fell off the radar and within the two matches we did play, other people stole our slots. Everyone seemed to know each other, and it was all in all a terrible experience. I'm vastly discouraged from showing up to another tourny.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows of any sort of clubs/groups/etc. that meet and play brawl on a regular basis in the Portland (oregon) area. Her and I would both love to get better at this game, and we're not really gonna be able to do that unless we can play other good players - sadly, we don't really know anyone in the area like that.

We both want to get a lot better before we attend another tourny, and were hoping someone would know of, or at least know of another place I could ask about, some brawl club in the area so that we can practice with other people in a much less high stress (and quite frankly, rude) environment.

So, in short, I'm wondering if there is a low pressure play group or club in the area we could go practice at and have some fun.

Any questions, just ask. And if there is a better forum for me to post this, or if I missed some obvious thread (I did look, but didn't see anything like this) just let me know, and kindly close this post.

Meow!

they didn't steal your slots, it's called a rotation. people gather around one TV, and play matches. the winner continues, and if there's more than 4 people there, people call next on a match, and then it goes in a rotation from there.
also, what tourney was it? i was probably there.

No, I understand rotations =) What I mean more is that they seemed very disgruntled to be playing with us the few games we did call next on. There really wasn't any attempt to make us feel welcome or comfortable =(

I'm sure it would have helped had we known people there, but like I said, we don't really know anyone in the area who plays (other than ourselves and one other personal friend). I can't remember the the name, but it was held at PSU.

At any rate - the point is, my girlfriend and I would like to find a Brawl play group in the area if one exists, and I was hoping that maybe some members here might know of one that we could start attending =3

Yeah, it was G.O! v2.0 probably.
I personally don't play brawl, but I know a lot of the players, and they're all really cool people. just ask for smash fests in the group JDM posted.
