Smash Rookie
I'm a twenty-five year old dude living in Normal. I work for a car dealership as an Internet sales specialist and vehicle photographer. I play Brawl but am interested in getting into Project M.
The widespread hype for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. title brings back some of the same feelings I had fifteen years ago when Nintendo Power promoted Super Smash Bros. 64. I played that game like it was my job, but only played Melee two or three times as I never owned a Gamecube.
I play Brawl with a few close friends. It was originally a drunken after-bar activity, but over time we started playing with the same few characters and on competitive stages without items. We will play Brawl for hours on some Sundays but seldom more than once a week, which mostly explains my maintained interest in the game. I also do not own a Wii, so my experience is entirely based on the sparse time playing with my close friends.
I play with Mario and Luigi. Mario is my main because he is challenge to master. Playing to any success with Mario requires a distinct type of cunning and a dynamic play style. I am well aware of Mario's [low] placement on the current tier list, but that doesn't make playing any less fun for me.
I'm here in hopes of finding some friends, rivals, enemies, drinking buddies, etc. to play in Brawl, Project M and the upcoming Smash title in an effort to test my skills and explore the competitive scene. I'll happily travel a bit to meet up and play Smash on a day off, so get at me!
