I'm a twenty-five year old dude living in Normal. I work for a car dealership as an Internet sales specialist and vehicle photographer. I play Brawl but am interested in getting into Project M.

The widespread hype for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. title brings back some of the same feelings I had fifteen years ago when Nintendo Power promoted Super Smash Bros. 64. I played that game like it was my job, but only played Melee two or three times as I never owned a Gamecube.

I play Brawl with a few close friends. It was originally a drunken after-bar activity, but over time we started playing with the same few characters and on competitive stages without items. We will play Brawl for hours on some Sundays but seldom more than once a week, which mostly explains my maintained interest in the game. I also do not own a Wii, so my experience is entirely based on the sparse time playing with my close friends.

I play with Mario and Luigi. Mario is my main because he is challenge to master. Playing to any success with Mario requires a distinct type of cunning and a dynamic play style. I am well aware of Mario's [low] placement on the current tier list, but that doesn't make playing any less fun for me.

I'm here in hopes of finding some friends, rivals, enemies, drinking buddies, etc. to play in Brawl, Project M and the upcoming Smash title in an effort to test my skills and explore the competitive scene. I'll happily travel a bit to meet up and play Smash on a day off, so get at me! :colorful:

Based on your intro, you seem like a pretty cool guy :)

I'm Hokori, an RPG and Anime fanatic, avid music listener, and overall mellow fellow.

If you're getting into PM, Mario is definitely a great character in that game compared to his Brawl iteration. Since you use Luigi too, I take it you're just a fan of the Mario Bros. play-style in general?

But anyway, welcome to Smashboards!

Thanks, Hokori. I have played Project M only a few times. Call me crazy, but I actually prefer the move set of Mario's Brawl iteration. I play Luigi in P:M as his move set is practically unchanged and I have less trouble adapting during the little time I spend playing.

I feel like Brawl's Mario requires more creativity to make the best of him, even if his overall game is arguably unacceptable. As much as I like Project M's mechanics geared towards fast paced fighting, I like exercising Mario's ledge game in Brawl. Making use of an oddball move like F.L.U.D.D. calls for a whole different level of innovation.

I like Luigi because he is a complete weirdo. He has good combo game and KO moves, but I enjoy baiting and ultimately capitalizing on the other player's mistakes. His mind game potential is unparalleled which can make for entertaining matches (everyone is afraid of the SHORYUKEN).

I hope both characters see a slight buff in Smash 4. :)

I feel like Horoki is like a close friend only because every welcome thread i go to Hokori is there replying and i feel happy about it somehow.

Anyways. Welcome to smashboards! If you ever come to Brazil ( specially Rio de Janeiro/ Niterói) send me a pm and i'll be sure to pay you a drink. I'm a 21 yo ssb player jigglypuff enthusiast who spend most of his free time practicing tech skills and watching random cartoons/anime. I study psychology and i wish i hadn't had money problems which made me sell my 3ds. I'll get a new one anytime soon though.
Anyways. I'd really like to be a drinking/playing buddy even if we have to play online while skype and drinking separately (i have done this a lot with some friends since i moved to another city and it's a weird experience to get drunk with someone over the internet lol and that's how lonely i am )

Once again, welcome :D
