Local tourneys devolving into Kirby v Kirby

Howdy, recently went to a local tourney i expected a lot of Kirby players and i was right to think that. Every game played in the tourney was with a kirby. To me I think this could stop a small unskilled scene like this from getting bigger. IMO kirby is just too appealing for unskilled played because of how easy and effective he is at a low level.

What do you guys think about a temporary Kirby ban to get people to try different characters?

Or maybe is there a different solution to the problem?



people only playing kirby vs kirby feels like a great way to say goodbye to interest in the scene completely

no need to ban a character, especially not if you can prove to newer players that he's easily beaten

well of course you can platform camp.. they just interpret the loss vs me as "he's just a god at smash 64 compared to me" and they go back to kirby every time lol..

and maybe that even reinforces the idea of ill never be as good as that, but kirby is easy so i'll play that

I think it sets a bad precedent. I don't have a solution for you, though. Maybe show them why pikachu is good and easy too

you should just play kirby too and convince them all that kirby is the only viable character

then you can be the kirby lord of your own little community of kirby robots

that **** would be so awesome lol
