I would like to gather the opinions of the members of this forum.
What is holding PM so far back that it is not being respected at the same level as Melee?
A lot of really great Melee players will shrug off a loss in PM just because "it's just PM".
I am not a great player by any means but I enjoy the smash scene quite a bit. As far as I can tell a lot of the
most important aspects of Melee exist in PM. There is a larger range of match ups and I don't think PM will end with spacies as the dominating characters in tourneys.
When I ask people why they like Melee better I mostly get these replies:
Melee is faster
PM is too easy/less technical
Can't establish a meta with a game being updated
The 1 frame delay thing
"I just do"
Could anyone with a strong grasp of the mechanics of both games and the smash scene in general comment on what is truly holding back PM in the eyes of all the Melee elites? What needs to happen for PM to step out of Melee's shadow and thrive as it's own game.
