Little Mac is like the Greninja of Smash

Everyone gushes about how great he is, leading to an influx of people using him.

But because most people don't know how to play him well, people start to get accustomed to noob Mac strategies, leading to him getting a low average win rate.

...oh wait, Greninja is in Smash 4, my mistake. But the parallels between Protean Greninja in XY and Little Mac in SSB4 are pretty hysterical.

Considering the 5 or so other threads along the lines of "Little Mac is broken"/"Little Mac is not broken" I would have to agree. Little Mac does indeed have strengths as well as weaknesses!

Protean is the Hidden Ability of Greninja. It allows him to change his type to match whatever attack he's using. Smogon has gushed incessantly about how great Protean Greninja is, and Smogon's blind followers put it on their teams.

Unfortunately, most people can't use Protean Greninja well at all. Type-changing aside, it has low defensive stats that allow it to be easily knocked out by a reasonably strong attack. GOOD Protean Greninja users know that it takes good prediction to be able to win with the ability.

It's pretty much the same deal with Little Mac in Smash 4. People see that he wins tons of matches. Blind followers try to use him. Most of them fail. Good Mac mains learn the specific strategies needed.

Either way, most people fail with every character, so I don't think there's a huge point being made.

I think it is still a bit early to say if a character is good or not yet. I'll put it this way Zelda was tier 6 while Captain Falcon was ranked 15th in the early days of Melee. Give it time and play your character well and eventually people will see the potential.

Protean Greninja is that good. Outspeeds most pokemon(before megas and except choice scarf) one of the best landorous counters and because of extrasensory can kill keldeo and venusaur two of it's counters. Little mac has weaknesses but his strengths vastly overshadow those. Anybody can pick up little mac and face roll cause little mac is the biggest pubstomper in smash history. Like seriously it don't take skill to win with little mac
