Little help for a noob...

So, i've been using riivolution for a while, got familiarized with psas, textures, and sawndz. i recently only started trying to modify csps, but i don't know how to go further about this since common5_en.pac immediately freezes the game when i try to start. i've read through tons of things already, and i don't know what it means when they say to "extract misc[30] and use it to replace yadda-yadda".
i took a look through brawlbox and common5 quite a few times. i know about the file limit, but don't know a workaround.
can anyone give me anything step by step?
