linking aerials

one of marth's best comboing abilities is to link aerials, namely chained fairs/uairs, and such. i can't seem to do it though. more often than not i'll hit them with a fair and follow up with another but simply won't hit. or when sh fair, i'll hit the ground before i can jump (pressing jump doesn't work for some reason) and sometimes the attack won't come out before i land (sh dbl fair, which by the way i can't ever land the second fair, it never hits for some reason. they always go too high or forward out of reach. wtf?) Any help with linking aerials together? does c-stick help? this is obviously an important anti-sheik tactic but can show dominance over others as well

i guess what i'm looking for is a way to sort of juggle them across the stage with aerials so i can kill them off or just cause massive damage

Yes C-Stick helps. As for you not jumping, just press the button faster, I guess.

Practice in training mode.

Good luck. :)

You should be L-Canceling all your aerials if you are not doing so already, and that will be a good start. You can use the Z button for SHFFL fairs, and it will auto-l-cancel it for you if you are near the ground (the nicest position to land a fair, since you will induce shield lag into enemies), which is kind of easy to do.

Also, it has been discussed that SHDFs are not optimal against Sheik by any means, and will more often than not get you killed by your own lagging animation.

The Uthrow > Utilt is almost always a good setup to aerial ownage, and as said already, spacing is crucial here. Sometimes, it's better NOT to sweetspot your fairs/uairs when going agains too high of a percentage, so that your opponent don't go too far out of reach.

it should be easy enough with only n00b tecs but don't use the c-stick it is for n00bs also link the arials right and watch your opponents so that you know what to do....or are you talking about ariials very close to the ground?

I think people should refrain from posting if they really don't have a clue as to what they are talking about.

If you don't use the C-Stick, you will either be very limited when it comes to uairs/dairs, and you will have poorer spacing with the other moves, or you will need a LOT more skill and coordination to pull things of.

If you try to uair on your fist jump, more often than not you will end doing a double jump before attacking, and this WILL seriously hinder your combo ability. As for the dair... watch out for self destructs when you accidentally fastfall while spiking. Yes, it can be very dangerous. Using the C-Stick when fairing or bairing can be very beneficial also, because you will be able to dynamically change your direction while you attack. Also, try doing a near ground short hop fastfall l-cancel fair without using the c-stick and then using it...

Ya, try wavedashing to space and a U-tilt should make a good pop-up attack.
