Hello everyone,

I'm trying to get in contact with someone that would be able to provide some insight. I've been looking into running a tournament for Smash (as well as a few other games possibly). I was doing some research and came across something saying I might need a small game of chance license as well as licenses for the games I use.

My question is, do I need these licenses and if I do, how do I go about acquiring them? Is it needed for every tournament? I only plan on running something small and locally at first, and I want to make sure everything goes as smooth as possible.

Thank you for your help!

I've never heard of anything like this. It may depend on where you're located. State/country laws may be different. I'd suggest trying to find someone near yourself who's run a tournament, and get clarification from them.

You shouldn't need a license if you're running just smash games, because smash games are not games of chance (definition). Game of chance licenses deal more with gambling.
