Hey!
I just got an idea to share with you. It's a letter that we at Smashboards are going to compose to tell Sakurai some of our thoughts about Brawl. This letter, then, will be some way sent to Sakurai. I doubt anyone here have direct contact with SSBB but maybe we can mass mail them so we should have great chances to be heard. In a kind way, i mean.

This letter can countain, like i said, our thougts about Brawl. We can point some stuff that are worrying us - example, the damage meter's size, the wifi friend's possible limit (64), etc, etc. Things that can be easily corrected. We can also give our opnion about stages, characters, musics and everything.

After all, we're the biggest smash bros community, no? We deserve some attention.

(Sorry for my english, hope you understand)
Edit: this is in the wrong board, my bad, i saw it at the exact moment i clicked "submit new thread".

Brawl is most likely mostly completed and he is definetly not taking any more thought or ideas...

The game is already finished. He's not going to delay the release date, change a bunch of things just because we don't like them.

Yeah, this game is definitely done. If anything, they're just making the tiniest of tweaks still.

Now, a letter from SWF translated into Japanese (there has to be someone here, right?) thanking Sakurai for all his hard work and dedication is something I could see myself getting behind.

I don't think the collective opinions contained in the letter would much weight.

Also, if the letter is thanking him, it would be much more meaningful after we've had sufficent chance to experience the game. It would also be much better to thank the entire Brawl development team instead of just Sakurai. There are a lot of hard-working men and women behind this game, so it would only be right to thank everyone involved. Sakurai may be the public face of the development team, but he certainly not the entire development team.

Yea Tenshi that's the idea. I think he'll just be happy to get some feedback from the biggest smash community. Please, guys, this is deadly important to any kind of artist.

There's small things that can be easily changed like: the damage metter icon, the players limit. Sometimes its just a small variable that takes seconds to change. (remember those are just examples).

We can say so many things. And maybe some (small) comments of every interessed user...
Then when everything is done, an admin posts a thread with the text and how we mail him.

Also, if the letter is thanking him, it would be much more meaningful after we've had sufficent chance to experience the game.
Why do tomorrow what we can do today? We can make another letter in the future if we want to, but we can't come back to the past to say what we can say just now.
I think its the perfect moment for some feedback and it'll be just up to Sakurai if it changes or no the development.

Of course.

Definitely. Goes without saying, of course.

If it's a letter for feedback and suggestions, it's too way late. If it's a letter for thanks, well, it's too late to thank the team for working (present tense, ongoing) on the game, since it's just polish and bug-fixing now. By the time this letter is finished, translated, sent, received, and put on Sakurai's desk (if even makes it that far), the game will be in the final stages of QA testing or it will have gone gold already. We can thank them for having worked (past tense, finished) on the game, but we haven't even played the game yet. I mean, wouldn't it be akward to thank the team for having made a game we haven't played? We would want our thanks to be a genuine appreciation of the game, right?
