Not everything is gone. And the tourney scene won't be destroyed--just crippled.

But history repeats, and we are in the exact same situation as we were in when Melee first came out. The first Melee tournament didn't have l-cancelling, wavedashing, or any of the sort. ATs and exploits take a long time to discover and learn to put to use effectively, so Brawl's metagame as of now is far from its peak.

It definitely won't be gone, that's for sure. Maybe just subdued a little.
It will only be subdued if you are trying to compare the game to Super Smash Bros. Melee. Brawl is an entirely new game; and people need to try and stop comparing the two to let that dictate their decision on how the competitive scene shall fare for this game.

I'm not one of those people, but many current pros are Melee purists. :(

Well, I'm not directing it at you persay. ^^ But more or less those Melee purists who really can't deal with some of the changes. But, they will in due time. ^^

And with the arrival of Brawl? A new generation of pros will likely rise. One of them being me. :p
