Less Lag for online help me :(

well ive been experiancing pretty bad lag so i was wondering if anyone knows any tricks to help boost my signal with my modem or help with the lag? i thought of putting my Wii on top of a chair so that i could try to get it closer to the wireless modem, havent tried it yet though.

i don't know if a Wii can since i've never looked in the back of mine after getting it but maybe try to hardwire it instead of wireless...?
