I don't think there's been a thread talking about what stages are going to be legal in tournaments (and if there has been, you may put the link here and I'll rage for making another copy of a topic for a thread). Then again, Sakurai kind of limited our stage selection to always / mostly Final Destination and then made all the other forms of stages made with free-for-alls only in mind, but hey- There's been legal stages like that in Melee and Brawl (ex. Melee: Pokemon Stadium and Brawl: Smashville, even though Brawl didn't get much legal stages), so I guess speculation on the 3DS version should at least have some opinions.

The following list of stages I know have to be legal or some counterpick for sure:

Final Destination - A flat, long platform with no obstacles.
Battlefield - A flat stage with 3 platforms, no obstacles.
Yoshi's Island - Kind of a rugged stage with an animated platform (it's been a legal stage in Brawl and Counterpick in Project M).
Prism Tower - A stage like Delfino Plaza, a legal stage in Brawl, but a little different. Still no game-changing stage hazards.
Any Omega Form Stage - Same reason as Final Destination.

The next list of stages I think only have a minor chance that they could be legal:

Tortimer Island - No stage hazards and no walk-offs, but the stage could be potentially too big.
Arena Ferox - Kind of like Pokemon Stadium in Melee, a basic stage that changes, but some of the changes lead to hard walls, obstacles that characters can bounce off of when smashed to them leading to a unneccessary long match.
Reset Bomb Forest - Same reason as above, but more of a chance to be illegal because the second form of the stage has too much going on.
Tomodachi Life - No obstacles really, just one long hard floor and 3 platforms above it that are just as long, though the 3 patforms in a row could be a little too much.

And here's a list of stages I think people may consider have a small chance to be legal, but are probably guaranteed to get banned:

Jungle Japes - 2 platforms and 1 hard floor yes, but right under it is the high speed water that WILL kill you, and of course the possible klap trap.
Wily Castle - A flat stage with platfor- op. Yellow Devil appears. Banned (You'd think Sakurai should at least have the option to turn bosses OFF, right?
Paper Mario - This stage gets more and more unfair in terms of competitiveness from going to a basic stage scene with a spring (the pipe), to 2 platforms and a Moving Bowser Head. Umm, hello?
Boxing Ring - Walk offs. There ya go.
Well if I had to list another reason, it'd be that you can destroy the lights off the stage.
I think the rest is self-explanitory.

So what do think? Which stages do you think have some chance of being legal, other than Final Destination and Battlefield, of course? Will it have the same amount as Melee did? Did I create a clone topic, and is someone going to show me that someone already started it? Do you think this is a wasteful thread? I hope not. I just want smashboard's opinion.

Snake Man's stage from Metal Blade Solid
My thoughts on the stages:
Battlefield (legal) it's obvious
Final Destination (legal) the fan favorite stage
3D Land (banned) side scrolling
Golden Plains (banned) side scrolling, stat boosts
Rainbow Road (banned) Shy Guys, frequent walk offs
Paper Mario (banned) Bowser's Castle makes it too easy to fall
Mushroomy Kingdom (banned) side scrolling, caves of life
Jungle Japes (banned) water
Spirit Train (banned) Dark Train's explosion ignores shields, and can blow away half the stage, effectively killing everyone
Brinstar (banned) acid
Yoshi's Island (legal) it was legal in brawl
Dream Land (banned) side scrolling, caves of life
Corneria (banned) banned in brawl
Unova Pokémon League (banned) Reshiram & Zecrom, stairs can KO and create walk offs
Prism Tower (legal) the walk offs in the beginning don't stay long
Gerudo Valley (banned) walk offs, the witches block off half the stage, the blast line can OK opponents unexpectedly
Mute City (I don't know) no lower blast line but other than that nothing is wrong with it
Magicant (banned) Flying Men
Arena Ferox (I don't know) it has caves of life, and attackable terrain that messes up Raptor Boost, and projectiles, but I don't think they stay long enough to completely change the game
Flat Zone 2 (banned) banned in Brawl
Reset Bomb Forest (I don't know) the caves of life can be destroyed, but some of the platforms are really close to the upper blast line
WarioWare, Inc. (banned) stat boosts
Distant Planet (banned) Bulborb, rain
Tortimer Island (I don't know) might encourage camping, items, shark
Boxing Ring (banned) walk offs, lights
Guar Plain (banned) no hard platforms
Balloon Fight (banned) walk offs that are even worse than others, flippers, fish
Living Room (banned) walk offs, toys
Find Mii (banned) stat boosts, Dark Emperor
Tomodachi Life (I don't know) low upper blast line
Pictochat 2 (banned) hard to avoid stage hazards
Green Hill Zone (banned) banned in Brawl
Wily Castle (banned) Yellow Devil
PAC-Maze (banned) caves of life, stat boosts
