Ledge Pivot?

Here is what I found I was able to do:

1) run to the ledge.
2) right before you fall, move the control stick in the other direction.
3) immediately afterwards, input an attack as if you are doing a regular pivot attack (alternatively, you can just dash the other way and it will resemble the turning animation during a dash dance.)

Is there a name for this already? Is there any possible use for this?

I'm not 100% sure it's what you are talking about but isn't this just a "teeter cancel" then turn around attack?

If you dash to the ledge, let go, and do nothing you will notice you go into teeter animation which cancel everything and allows instant inputs.

It can be really useful on platforms.
