Ledge Guarding Tech Question

Ive searched and searched, but I can't figure out the name. I've tried and tried, but I can't figure it out how on my own.

Since I'm not aware of the name, try to follow me here:
I've seen players, especially pros, who do aerials immediately off the ledge. For example, Wizzrobe will get up and immediately knee, barely moving vertically off the ledge, but being able to slam that knee right on the ledge. Or a Falco/Fox will hand on the ledge an immediately bair to guard the ledge, but they do not fall, the remain at the same vertical. What's the technique called? How does one do this?

(Sorry for not providing a video or gif to make this simpler, I'm on my phone asking this before I forget)

I think what you are referring to is performed like this:
-drop of the ledge (Back, Down, or C-stick back)
-Jump
-Perform the aerial
-Drift onto the stage
One other note: by using own to drop off, meaning you have the option to fastfall, which is in some situations better. You should figure when and when not to fastfall.
Hope I could help you out :)!
