I don't know if this deserved its own topic, but the boards are slow so why not right? Anyway, I would kind of like some of your opinions on Luigi's options off the ledge. Specifically, offensive options starting out with your invincibility frames hanging off the side of a stage. I have found two safe ones --

1) Drop off the ledge and immediately do a rising Uair. At lower (<40%?) percents, you can follow it up with a fast falled Nair into a jab combo. It looks something like this.
Uair -> fastfall Nair -> Jab (cancel) -> whatever you like to do after a jab.
More often than not your opponent will still be in the air from the Nair that after the jab you can UpB without giving them the option to shield. I've done this to players from 30% straight into the K.O.

2) I use this to setup 1. Fast fall off the ledge, quickly double jump backwards and fireball. If you do it right you will auto snap back to the ledge for more invincibility goodness. I use this to bait players to come too close to the edge, where I inact plan 1.

Don't know if this was particularly useful, but it sure can't hurt anyone. Other ledge goodness people would like to share????

Wishing Apex 2012 happened again.
Luigi's totally crap on the ledge espically who outspace him and it hurts even more when your in their kill range/power :/

But let's get some facts straight. Got it straight from Marth boards via their own ledge options thread

NOTE: Ledgejumping is jumping from the edge. You retain your second jump when you do this.
Ledgehopping is falling away, and then performing your midair jump to recover onto the stage at ground level. This is generally a more offensive option.

Ledgejumping is defensive, as you can jump over your opponent, footstool, airdodge, etc. You have more options.

Ledgehopping is more offensive. Your opponent is on the same level as you, as if you short hopped. However, you don't have your second jump.

Risk vs. Reward. Watch your %. Unlike every other option from the edge, ledgehopping IS NOT SLOWED DOWN WHEN YOU RISE FROM THE EDGE. ALL OTHER OPTIONS ARE.

.

Ledgedrop options:

1) Ledgedrop to fireball (duh lol)
2)ledgedrop to any aerial then follow up with a tornado (I do this so I can get on the middle of the stage and reset the pace of the match).
3) Ledgedrop to a shoryuken (Only if they are poorly spaced, are next to the edge but majority of the time it'll work maybe only once.)
4) Ledgedrop to the list of aerials
Fair > Nair
Dair > Nair
Upair > Nair
Fair> Fair

i might have fogotten but fill me in if im missing cause im lazy.

5) (A favorite option but risky one) Ledgedrop to a Green missle. Note that your looking for a misfire that's a usually unexpected one. Again, unreliable.

Yeah my terminology is off a little, but hey, whatcha gonna do :D

Anyway hippie, I'm glad you brought up the whole ledgedrop -> aerial -> tornado. I do this on occassion and it works great to get yourself back to the center of the stage. Ledgedrop to uppercut I've pulled off on my worse friends, but never, ever in a tourney match by any means. I also use the drop to green missle from time to time because people don't expect it, and once in a blue moon you do get a missfire, and its totally worth it. I've won matches from ledgedrop to misfire (even though I charge it a little in case).

man... its too scary when marth is ledge guarding you :D that aerial+tornado to mid does indeed work quite well. hmm, i never landed a ledgedrop to a shoryuken, but today i did land a buffer+shoryuken. i felt reborn
