Learning Ness

I've been playing this game for years. My mains are Sheik and Marth. With the recent delay of Brawl, I've decided to try a new character. I picked Ness cause he is a badass and I think anyone that mains him deserves kudos. Now I'm starting to develop my skills and I'm finding to be a really fun character to play as. Just wanted to ask for some general Ness strategy help. I'm getting pretty good at all of his aerial moves but I still can't implement any of his specials very well. Also, is there any effective way to use the yo-yo smash attacks?

The best place to start with Ness are the stickied threads up thar. I advise you to start with Nessbounder's thread, then check out Simna's Guide to PK Thunder and the Yo-yo glitch: Cracked guides. Also, don't use his D-smash, ever.

Yeah. Noticed that was pretty useless. At least the U-smash one pops them up.

d-smash does too but you gotta use some serious mindgames.

Also check out the video archive. Mofo, Simna, and UmbreonMow are the most polished looking Ness's, so start there.

I've got an idea, Simna. If someone good with Ness were to record a few matches and upload them, you could link them to these boards and not talk about the lack of good Ness vids. And then we would all stand in a metaphorical circle and hum kumbaya. And the world would be peaceful again.

nah i say just use the vids there are....watch all the stuff in ademisk's vid collection and apply what good things u can gather and see how they fit into your win/lse situation against whatever u are playing against
