Its a very good read if you have the time. He talks about Zelda, Mario, and other unique Wii titles. One of my favorite points, however, is the last paragraph:

EDGE: When you one day retire, what do you want to be remembered for?
MIYAMOTO: I would be happiest if people look back some day and say this is somebody who was there when videogames first started being created and he’s somebody who was continually creating new styles of play and was bringing new ideas to games and was a pioneer up until his dying day.

Thats some good stuff. Makes me sad at the thought of Miyamoto dying. :cry:

Makes me wonder what the community as a whole would do once Miyamoto reaches that Game Over screen...
It's the reaction I'm curious about.

Personally, I'll be more bummed out when Yuji Naka and Naoto Ōshima kick the buckets.

Miyamoto is a gaming legend and should go down in the books as one. His works will live on through the test of time, it's just sad to think that one day he'll depart from us. ;_;

Yup it is very sad....he inspires me to do what I do. I'm probably gonna cry all my tears out when he goes.

On the blue planet next to the sun, can't miss it!
Honestly, I think Miyamoto is approaching this in both the right way and the wrong way. On the "right" level, he's appealing to a G-rated, family market, which is always a bigger market in the video game industry. On the other hand, we see a lot of hardcore Nintendo gamers who turn their backs on Miyamoto, for not sticking to a pattern that has worked for a long time.

When I mentioned Naoto Oshima, I meant from the 90s. Mmhmm.

Yuji Naka programmed the first in the series, but Oshima...
Oshima MADE him. He is to Sonic what Walt Disney is to Mickey.

He'd be mist of course. But it shouldnt be THAT hard to create new mario and zelda games. I mean they kinda use the same formula so its pretty easy to get a big grasp on it, but the creativity is where im scared miyamoto replacers will lack in

Id be alot more sad when mr kojima dies because ya just cant create an mgs without him.
Sorry if i sounded a bit mgs fanboyish right thar...

He is such a good man, he needs to write a book for us Nintendo fans. I think that would sell well, like secrets that were never released. Like the real Super Mario Bros. 2...
