Late Oct Direct?! Speculation Thread

I want to apologize in advance if I got some of you hyped but just keep it in your mind.

We already heard rumor and speculation that we might get Nintendo Direct next week before Second Quarter Earnings Release which got scheduled on Oct 30. It's low chance of it happening but I think it's still possible that we could get Nintendo Direct next week.

We already know the fact that we heard a rumor about Little Mac, Pac-Man and Mii are coming to SSB4 as playable characters, but it's possible that might be just lucky guess or red herrings along with other three leaked characters. My point is that if we are getting Nintendo Direct soon then it might be good time for them to show us the newcomers soon as possible since we are getting their games next week.

Pac-Man is coming out for Wii U on Oct 29 for North America, but there is a problem. The problem is that it's not coming to Europe or Japan from what I remembered so that might make it low chance for Direct and Pac-Man to happens.

Wii Sport Club is set to be release to Japan on Oct 30th, and to Europe/North American on Nov 7. Of course, it's possible that we could see Mii being announced as well as we hope to see.

We know that Little Mac is main protagonist for Punch-Out ever since NES. Anniversary is coming up for Little Mac very soon. We are aware that Punch-Out NES got released during Oct 1987 in Japan and Nov 21 1987 in USA.


Do you think it's possible that we could see those 3 characters for next Direct somewhen next week or two weeks. I sincerely hope so but I wouldn't dare to get my hope high since Nintendo is all about UNPREDICTABLE.

I am honestly expecting some announcement next week. The new Pikachu game is going to be announced on the 28th of October, not to mention Halloween is a pretty major holiday in the West. Let us not forget that Sakurai also revealed Sonic on the first without any direct correlation to a release date. Pokemon's reveal was also skipped, but for how long? The anticipation is killing me. The average reveals are every 18 days. It has been 18 days since the Sonic reveal, so something is coming soon. I doubt we will have to wait much longer. He might also release something on the first of November (if he is starting to reveal stuff at the beginning of the month in order to not make himself predictable).

So we should be getting something.

Would they actually confirm THREE newcomers again? 3 seems too high of a number for a character reveal considering they're newcomers but that's only if Sakurai actually has more newcomers planned for the game, then it would seem appropriate to showoff this much characters.

Yeah, I don't see them announcing 3 characters all at once near the end of October.

There's really no reason to play that hand, if they have it. Maybe it'd make sense to save that for a few days before black friday, so that when people start their Christmas shopping, everyone's pumped about smash and thinking about the Wii U?

They did announce 3 newcomers for Brawl in October 2007, being Lucas, Dedede and Sonic, though that game obviously had an enormous amount of newcomers, where as this game probably won't have as many. Plus, they weren't announced at the same time either.

I don't think we're going to get 2 Directs in one month, we've already had one in October. Furthermore, I'm not expecting any newcomers until next year, where it'll be justified of Sakurai to steal every other game's thunder in Directs.

But it's been almost a month since Sonic's reveal. His reveal right by Toon Link screwed up the averages, so I think, except for that kind of special case, the average is slightly less than a month. So I expect to see a character soon. Just waiting for November.... hopefully we get a confirmation of Zelda. I want her confirmed.

I think we are gonna get a direct late november or mid december dedicated to 2014 releases. It would be like the january direct. I expect them to show Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, Fire Emblem X SMT, Tropical Freeze, Yarn Yoshi etc.

If Pac-Man were to be included in Smash 4, i'd actually like him to have his Pac-Man Party design.

I find this 'modern' design to be the best so far, also like that he's wearing some nice kicks. His Ghostly Adventures design I find kind of creepy looking, most notably, for me anyway, is his visible and odd looking teeth. His Pac-Man Party appearance I find to be a good mix of the old and the new.

I think a Nintendo Direct for this Friday or next Monday shouldn't be completely out of the question. We got a Nintendo Direct in October, then a "Wii U Direct" in November, and another Nintendo Direct in December last year.

That said, I don't think these specific 3 characters will be revealed, even if I do expect them to be in the roster (especially Little Mac and Mii). We'll probably get a veteran (Zelda).

I'm satisfied with having Sonic alone, but I just want more! It's a bit greedy yes, but this month has been underwhelming. I keep thinking that they will reveal something when they… don't.
