Last Update for Smash 4?

Will 1.1.6 be the very last update to Super Smash Bros. 4?
I came to the conclusion because at first I was sure they would make maybe a couple more after the last patches, but It's been two months and already about to be the end of August, making it the third month.
So the question pop-up again and I'm not really sure what will happen at this point.

In my opinion, I feel the dev team must have discontinued anymore progress towards the game, moving on to other projects.
I would like to see some more improvements for many characters though, which would be really big let down that they started buffing some of the characters that needed it and more. I would like to see Samus, Falco, DK, Duck hunt, Bowser and etc. get some buffs.
Hoping to see Smash Hell/Banned Land removed though, would have been nice.


I'm not sure how this would work though, because I don't know if Sakuri is the one that has to give the "okay" on the patches before being released or if they act alone.
If Sakrui were to be the guy in charge though, then I don't think there will be anymore updates to be honest.
Sakrui has been really anxious for the last couple of months, wanting to leave the game and work on other projects.
Meaning he wouldn't be around to accept the changes made.

I'm not really sure about how this really works, but I'm going based off of how the development of the game was made and organized.

If this was the Last update, what are your thoughts? Positive, Neutral, or Negative? What were you hoping to see?

I think I said this in another Thread before, but I think I'd be okay with whatever happens.

The updates have never really bothered me that much (except when they purge my precious replays) and it's not like we can't adapt to whatever buff or nerf our character gets. Sure, no one may like getting their favorite character nerfed; however I'm sure we can find ways to work around them. If we do somehow manage to get an update I'd rather have it for certain modes and features rather than characters.

That being said I honestly don't think that will happen any time soon, or possibly never.

I'm pretty sure they have moved onto other projects by now, so unless the Smash NX rumor is somehow magically true I doubt we will get anymore updates. But who knows, maybe they'll surprise us. Either way I think I'd be okay with whatever type of update we get.

Unless it was a game breaking update, but they would have to try very hard for that to happen.

Yeah, I want more patches.

There's still characters with broken hitboxes. There's still some obviously large balance isssues at both ends of the tier list even though balance has improved massively since release. There's still characters who don't win a single matchup and characters who don't lose a single matchup. There's probably ~20 characters that can win a national which is good. But we can do a lot better, no reason to settle for what we have now.

I think it's probably the last patch, but that really depends on whether or not the dev team is working on a Smash NX launch title and/or feel like dedicating time to the Wii U and 3DS versions still, and there's no way for us to confirm or deconfirm that, so it's impossible to tell. Either way though, I'd say I want a another patch in some sort of vain hope that Jigglypuff would get a buff, but I don't actually have any hope for that and think if there were anymore she'd just be ignored like always and suffer to power-creep, so I'd rather there not be another patch. What's the point of the game being more balanced overall if it ends up being less balanced for you overtime anyway?

My 2 mains in this game have been so I feel you there. Dedede was considered mid tier on release, and wario high tier in the US and top tier in Japan. Now because them both not getting any buffs and getting passed by many others who have, and because of DLC Dedede is now low and Wario is low mid. Sucks. Powercreep has kinda rekt my characters too.

Honestly, if this were to be the last patch or if the next patch didn't fix certain problems that haven't really been mentioned, I'd just skip this game and go straight to the next one that is rumored to be released for the Nintendo NX in the future.
