Laptop capable of playing SSBM Netplay @60fps

Hi,

New member here o/

I'm personally an avid SSB fan and have been playing since the N64. I am looking for some advice for a friend of a friend who is looking to play SSBM on a laptop at 60fps using netplay.

I have done some exploring and can see this forum hosts a wealth of information relating to desktops and using intel chipsets and ddr4 memory and how it is better to focus on single thread processors than beefy graphics cards. My question is what would be a reasonably priced laptop that would allow 60frames and a great experience when playing SSBM over netplay. The machine needs to be portable as it will be transported around a University campus.

If you guys have any advice that would be hugely appreciated. Or even some ideas of specs I should be looking for when browsing new and refurbished machines. I would prefer not to get an intel 'K' processor as my friend-friend will not be savvy to overclocking.

You don't need a super beefy machine to run melee. In fact, if I recall correctly, you can alter settings in Dolphin to change the graphics so that, even if it doesn't run at 60fps at first, you can still change some settings.

Which has some information, which may, or may not be accurate.

As for which laptop in particular, well, I have no clue.
