Mkay, this thread is an idea of all the good possibilities for Mario when he's about to land.

I'll start.

Fireball

Is good for spacing enemys out to leave you for a good landing. Although is slow and predictable with limited range.

Nair

Ah nothing like a good ol sexy Nair. One of the less lag move Mario has, has a bigger hitbox than Uair. Even if it is quick and bigger range than Uair it's like a tap if not hit on sweet spot.

Dair

Not as usfull to use when landing than Nair but the consecutive hits it does can keep some enemys away. I suggest not using it as much cause it's really laggy if the Dair doesn't finish in air.

Sidestep/Rolldodge (Ukemi)

Always good against the really offensive players who always try to add on attacks. Fast with any character and if decide right can set you up for an awesome easy attack. Weak against grabs.

Uair

Like almost no lag. Is good for the simple "get away from me" attack. The move is pretty self explanatory, both has the same amount of pros and cons.

Cape

The awesome cape... is good for the slowing down of your fall (for some really simple mindgames) and is quickly surprising. Use this almost always if your enemy is trying to knock you in air some more, he/she jumps looking for attack, you reverse him/her leaving you for an open Nair/Uair/fireball/Dair/Bair or even another cape.

DI

90% of the time, you don't want to land right in front of someone's shield.
^That pretty much explains why you MIGHT want to DI away from your enemy.

I'm not sure what this thread is about but Nair, Bair, and Uair all have virtually zero lag.

I actually like this idea. Question though, do you mean landing from offstage or landing after freefalling (from MK's nado, for instance)? There are different things to take into account for both. RCO lag is one...which is becoming increasingly pesky for me.

I usually just buffer into aerials or Dsmash, assuming that my spacing was good in the first place.
