Hrmmm, I have very mixed feelings about this technique. In some ways I find it ridiculous to have a technique that would remove lag, that kinda hurts the balance between ariels and ground attacks. But then again, why not have a technique to help make yourself more agile when using ariels, there should be something to seperate players who have taken the time to learn how to do it.

You can still cancel your lag in Brawl by fast falling.

I remember warning everyone manual L cancelling was going to be out. But then I got hit by a tidal wave of competitive players in denial insisting it would remain despite the fact the game is going to be easier to play and all minor details will be simplified. And sure enough, L-Cancel is simplified. SHFFL is now just SHFF. xP

I think he's reffering to how L-canceling is used in Melee. And I think more advanced techniques leads to greater depth, which is more fun to play and get better at. So, I would favor L-canceling to be in Brawl, and from what I've heard it apparently is, but not at noticable due to the lag of aerials already being cut down.

I know what he means. I'm a competitive player myself, but it doesn't bother me. How many casual players even used fast fall to begin with? There's also new stuff like walk-off-the-ledge hugging which will definately be more common on the competitive scene. Though with online play, the amount of competitive players there are will grow wildly.

There's already threads for discussing these things.
