L-Canceling - The one Thread to Destroy them all.

From what I see there seems to be a lot of turmoil over this, and since of the lazy habits of folks I will keep this as short as I can.

So, L-canceling is gone? I still fail to see what the problem is, so no one can L-cancel that means that slow characters are slower. This is the cause of concern correct? However the fast charcaters are also affected too, making them a little slower too, but still faster.


Now, this makes sense. But watch closely kiddies!


If L-Canceling was in Brawl surely the gain of Lag reduction would be equal as it was in Melee? So it would be proportionate right? So if two Pro's where fighting away and they both L-canceled what does this mean students? They would both gain equal benefits? Mmyesh! So in theory there is NO difference. Unless I'm missing some vital info or you ''Pro's'' just plan on using this agianst noobs whom know no better online.


''But Duplex'' you cry! Now now people, if anything the current one is fairer. Since air moves cannot be reduced in lag this means that ground attacks are more effective and releativly compated to the other sceniro, faster.

Actually yeah, the vital difference is that people who do not put the effort of learning how to L-cancel are matched up to the ones who took the time to learn it. Perhaps you may have noticed that there is a lot of shield grabbing in low level play? This lack of L cancel may also lead to slow characters being really slow, and thus leaving them no chance at fighting in midair, the L-cancel made Bowser/Ganon/Falcon/Link at least semi-playable in the competitive scene.

Now it looks like Marth and Peach are going to dominate now because they apparently have very low lag amounts (Peach is said to have her float cancel still in the game.)
