So I've found a lot of great mods that work well with PM 3.0, but this is not one of them. I'm kind of new at modded Brawling and didn't start until PM 3.0 was released, so I'm having a hard time getting this one to work.

I've gotten Megaman in there (on top of Ness, unfortunately), but I can't figure out what to do with the alt colors, sound effects, missile item, and portraits. Can anyone out there be able to tell me what I need to do by viewing the download folder or trying it for themselves? It's an awesome mod, my props to its creators. I hope I haven't broken any rules by posting someone else's mod, I just want to find some help getting new characters into Project M.

Thanks!

You don't need all of the alt colours, only what fills up Ness' slots (7). So choose 7 from the download and insert them into Ness's folder with the correct names.
The Crash Bomb wont work, as it requires you to modify common3.pac, which in turn will screw up a lot of established P:M codes and changes. (Which will pretty much ruin the whole point of downloading the character).
To replace portraits, you'd need to open common5.pac with brawlbox (or brawl costume manager), find ness's portraits under sc_selcharacter_ > char_bust_text > Miscdata 10 and individually replace the portraits. Using brawl costume manager simplifies the process a bit by already displaying the portraits for the character and costume you wish to replace.

All in all, it isn't really recommended you place modded movesets in the P:M environment. A lot of issues come up.

For the Crash Bomb, go into brawlbox and edit P:M's common3.pac file. Replace the ItmChewingBrres.pac with the one that came along with Megaman. For sound, use sawndz or super sawndz and insert the SAWDZ files in the Mega Man into a smash.brsar and create a new SAWNDZ file.

I did put Megaman in one of my builds of Project M 3.0 and it was honestly not that good. There was a ton of glitches and oddities with the character. I found out (the hard way) that you can trap someone by continuously firing the Mega Buster and can pummel a grabbed character forever as long as you rapidly mash the attack button. Sometimes some of the projectiles just randomly stop traveling and disappears. It's okay when you play alone, but when other players find out about these tricks it gets real dull.

Project M doesn't use smashbros_sound.brsar
It uses the Replacement Soundbank Engine. Simply replace the voice call for Ness in any brsar, and export the sawnd file with the group ID as the name. Place that .sawnd file in the sfx folder on your sd card.
