Koalhtahk’s Game Night will be hosting an OPEN house event and ALL are welcome to attend. Come be a part of the Game Night community where there will be a variety of games to enjoy. Consoles ranging from OLD school to NEW will be available for play. Join us for a Battle of the Gods Tournament where there will be CASH prizes $$$!
Cost: $5 at the Door, $5 per tournament sign up
Prize: Pot – 70/30 divided between 1st and 2nd place
When: Friday June 5th 2009 3:00PM EST
Where: Ramada Inn 1927 Franklin Rd. Sw Roanoke, VA 24014
Tournament Games: Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Halo 3, Soul Calibur IV
Rules: Can be found on www.koalhtahk.net for each event
*A schedule of what times each Tournament will begin will be handed out on the Day of the Tournament.
**All game night RULES apply to this Open House event, please be aware of the rules to avoid any complications ^_^.
Many other games will be available for those who are not entering any tournaments.
Ramada Inn will be offering a special rate for anyone attending on that night that will need a room
SSBB Brawl mode 1v1 (No Items)
Matches will be four-stock, seven-minute brawls with NO ITEMS on either Final Destination or Battlefield 1 player vs 1 player. The winner will advance to the next round of the tournament in a double elimination style bracket. Character selection will be double-blind at the beginning of the match (players will not know their opponent's character when choosing their own). Players will write down their character for judges to select. If a participant chooses a character capable of transforming and wishes to use an alternate form (i.e. Sheik, Zero Suit Samus, or starting Pokemon), the participant will be responsible for doing so BEFORE the match begins (the match will not be reset if a participant fails to do this). All selectable characters are eligible for use.
Players are encouraged to bring their own controllers, there will only be game cube controllers available for people to use who did not bring their own controller. If you bring a Wii wireless controller please keep the batteries OUT of the remote until it is time to use it.
The NOs
• NO Meta Knight’s infinite cape glitch – this will be grounds for an automatic ban from the tournament.
• NO spamming – There are other moves don’t be a NOOB
• NO stalling – I don’t want to see any pink marsh mellows flying around praying for a sudden death match.
• NO smack talking – or at least keep it to a minimum
• NO showing up late if your name is called – sorry you lost more than your watch.
• NO breaking Game Night rules – don’t make me type them all over again =\
• NO spectator communication – don’t tell someone how to play their own character, however cheering is encouraged ^_^
• NO debating with the judges – host your own tournament QQ baby!
What IFs
• If the console were to shut down during a match – that match will be restarted.
• If someone breaks the rules – FAIL FAIL FAIL!!!!! >=O!!
• If you are called out on spamming – STOP IT FFS
• If you call someone out on spam and it’s really not spam – STFU! L2 Play.
• If a match results in a draw – THEN sudden death (each character begins with 300% damage) I WANT TO SEE BLOOD!
Prizes
At this time the prize for The God (1st place) and Demi-God (2nd place) is happy placement on our leader boards along with SUPREME bragging rights! Future prizes are in the works. Keep checking back for further updates.
Open House Prizes
