If you are willing to bring a setup with you, mention that you will bring it in this thread and/or send me a pm so the club can make appropriate preparations.

Edit: Now, we know this event is on the same day as NEC in Philly. So I'm guessing its safe to assume a lot of people won't even consider coming to this event. We can try to change the event date, but Rutgers will charge us money to do so, since we have the rooms reserved for that particular time and day. However, if some of you guys can't make it to NEC, feel free to come down.

Pretty dumb of us to lock in the room on that particular day and not realize NEC was the same exact weekend until the last minute. =/

Let the battle begin!... FIGHT!!!

The Underground Gaming Society is proud to present its first of a series of bi-weekly tournaments, Knight Slash!

On December 4th, we'll be revving it up with Super Street Fighter 4, and pumping our fists to Super Smash Bros: Brawl

At-door registration begins at 6:00 pm. The tournaments officially begin at 7:00 PM

BYOC (BRING YOUR OWN CONTROLLER)

NOTICE: We're recruiting staff members for this event! If you'd like to volunteer as staff or bring in any setups, send an e-mail to: ugs.rutgers@gmail.com!

DOUBLE NOTICE: If you'd like to pre-register, leave a comment here or send an e-mail to 'ugs.rutgers @ gmail.com' with the following items included:

SUBJECT (for e-mail only): Knight Slash 1.4 Registration
Your First and Last Name -- your name
Your registered nickname -- this will be the name that you will be known as in the tournament and in rankings.
Desired Event -- either Street Fighter or Brawl
Registered E-mail -- e-mail you want us to send you messages to

Point distribution + Prize For the Winner

1st - 10 pts + 50% of the entry fees collected
2nd - 7 pts
3rd. 5 pts.
4th. 3 pts.
5th. 2 pts
6th. 2 pts

(everyone else recieves 1 pt)

These points add up each week, and the more people that come out, the bigger the pot will
be each week. The player / team with the most points by the end of the season is declared the winner
of the season.

Games:

Super Street Fighter 4 (XBX 360) (Character Lock) ($5 Entry)

Rules:

- Character Lock in effect. Meaning you stick with the character you register with throughout the entire tournament.

- If necessary, loser can change ultra.
- Color 11 and 12 is banned
- Best 2/3 Matches, 1 Match = Best 2/3 Rounds
- 99 Seconds
- Double Elimination
- Default Health and Handicap
- (Double) Blind Pick will be available if requested
- Winners, Losers, and Grand Finals Are Best 3/5 Matches
(If loser wins in the Grand Finals, both players must play a second 3 of 5 set, per Double Elimination rules)

- Use of turbo or any input altering feature is banned. Get caught, and you are instantly DQ'd from your bracket

- Leave your station during a match will result in a DQ from your bracket

Super Smash Brothers Brawl ($5 Entry)

* 3 stock
* 8 minute time limit
* Best 2 of 3. finals matches (losers/winners/grand) being best 3 of 5
(If loser wins in the Grand Finals, both players must play a second 3 of 5 set, per Double Elimination rules)

* Double Elimination
* 50 Ledge grab rule ( if you time out each other in a match and you go over 50 ledge grabs you lose that match. )
* Items are OFF including smash ball

Set format (In Order of Procedure):

1. Opponents choose their characters for the first match *
2. Opponents start the stage striking procedure
3. Each player may announce one stage to be banned for counterpick of the set
4. The first game is played, using the stage chosen during step 2
5. The loser of the previous match announces the next match's stage from either the Starter Stage List or the Counter Stage List
6. The winner of the previous match chooses their character
7. The loser of the previous match chooses their character
8. Repeat steps 5-7 for all proceeding matches

*Double blind character selection may be called for the first match

Neutral Stages: Each player can alternately strike a stage until one stage is left. That stage is then played.

Neutral:

* Final Destination
* Battlefield
* Yoshi's Story
* Smashville
* Lylat

Stages for Counterpick:

* Delfino Plaza
* Frigate Orpheon
* Battleship Halberd
* Castle Siege
* Rainbow Cruise
* Brinstar
* Pokemon Stadium 1
* Pictochat

Banned Stages:

*Everything Else

Stage Banning: Each player / team may select up to 1 stage that will be banned from the tournament set.

Counterpick Rule: The loser of the match first chooses the stage that the next match of the set will be played on. The opponent, then, makes the choice of changing character or not. than the loser of the match selects his/her character.

THERE IS NO CP RANDOM RULE YOU MUST CHOOSE A STAGE.

Pause Rule : If you pause during a match you lose a stock. The only exception is to call a TO over for a ruling or an issue. It is at the TOs discretion to decide if the issue is worth pausing over.


• Excessive "Stalling"tactics are banned.
• Controller Mods are banned
Violation of any rule is punishable by non-refunded disqualification.

In the event of a TIE at the end of the time limit, the player with the most stocks wins. If both players have one stock then it is decided by percentage. If both players have ONE STOCK and SAME PERCENTAGE the players will quit the SUDDEN DEATH, set the stock to one, and start a match with stage being the same as where they had the tie. This will determine the winner.

Parking Info: Since it's the weekend, you should be able to park right behind the student center. I promise you shouldn't get a ticket. If you do, you can take your anger and aggression all out on me.

Smash is now a singles event, and there might be Melee singles this week.

i figured thats what happened. *sigh* Next semester we really have to avoid making tourneys during the same weekend as other smash events.

sucks that we did it again this weekend, since NEC in Philly is this weekend. >=[
