So what is everyone's favorite Kirby game???

I just got the collection for the Wii with the 6 games and the extra levels and stuff. I actually got it so I could watch Kirby right back at ya! but then I started getting into the old school titles. I'm playing Crystal Shards right now, and I gotta say it's pretty darn fun, especially making combo abilities.

It's gotta be Super Star, since it's got a lot of memories associated with it. I think that's one of the only games I can play through over and over again without getting tired of it.

I really loved Crystal Shards, but it hasn't aged too well from a graphical standpoint. I *really* wish they'd bring back the Combo Abilities idea in a new, ideally 2D sprite-looking game. Amazing Mirror was really neat, too, since it took the Great Cave Offensive 'Metroidvania' style and made a whole game out of it.

Oh! And Air Ride, which is my favorite racing game, if only for City Trial.

I'm a Kirby efficianado! I've played just about every mainline Kirby game released stateside and some spin-off games (Kirby Air Ride hollah!)

As for my favorite Kirby game of all time, Kirby Superstar Ultra! Totally trumps out the original with all its extra content. Kirby Triple Deluxe and Return to Dreamland are a tie for me.

So, who here would throw their life savings at Kirby Air Ride 2 on Wii U? :4kirby:

>Air Ride 2

Remember how Rosalina's trailer started had all the Kirby and all the Air Ride music? Yeah, still sad that wasn't an Air Ride 2 announcement.

I thought the exact same thing until Rainbow Road came up. Seriously, there's enough demand for that game and there's so much potential to expand on the concepts set by the first!

Kirby's Adventure by far for me. Nice perfect difficulty, good levels, and secrets. One of my favorites to replay.

Super Star is a close second though. The game being broken down into different segments like that was a plus and a minus for me when comparing it to Adventure. I've yet to play DL2 and I'm not too fond of DL3 and Crystal Shards.

Best non traditional Kirby for me was Canvas Curse. So hype for the Wii U sequel.

What's everyone's opinion on Rainbow Curse, the currently-in-development Wii U Kirby title? I've always had mixed feelings about its launch trailer, except for the Tank transformation which is awesome. Hopefully we see more of the game in the upcoming Nintendo Direct.

I'd need to see more of it, honestly. Canvas Curse was pretty neat and Rainbow Curse looks *really* super pretty, but I'd like to see more gameplay and other 'stuff' (abilities, transformations, etc) before I develop a real opinion.

I'll probably end up liking it like I did Canvas Curse. Although like Epic Yarn, there's nothing really super exciting hyping me up to get it.

Anyone here have their own "Never Miss a Kirby Game" rule? I have since Nightmare in Dreamland (my first Kirby game! :kirby2:)

I try to. I need to pick up Return to Dreamland and Nightmare to Dreamland (oh and triple deluxe/mass attack, forgot about those!), then I think I'll have all of the ones released in the US. \o/

Controversial Opinion: I liked Kirby 64 and I think it's all gone downhill since Super Star, Kirby wearing a hat has killed the combo system, which was a gameplay concept that made it really interesting, and now new Kirby games just feel the same

I will state that Super Star is a good game and new kirby games aren't really bad, I just like Kirby 64 best overall.

Kirby's Air Ride is probably my second favorite game. :3

Yeah, I know a couple of people who have the same criticisms as you do, @ DeadlyLampshade DeadlyLampshade . Kirby 64 is a really unique game that stands alone in chronology. To me, however, there was never really a 'bad' Kirby game. Lackluster ones? Yes. But never a stinker like some Mario or Zelda games.

Anyways, I like to think that why so many Kirby games use the Superstar formula is because Superstar is the 'classic' formula (a la Adventure) enhanced. Kirby 64 seems like it's closer to the Dreamland formula and enhanced it with ability fusion.

I would totally be down for a "Kirby 64 2" though. The developers could make the hats even more amazing with ability fusion too.

Squeak Squad was a decent - if not super great - way of handling additions to hat-based abilities, what with the scroll system and all.

I think *the* thing I'd want out of 64 2 would be having more than one (or two) moves per ability, kind of like... well... every other Kirby game since, like, Adventure. (excluding adventure and dreamland 2/3)

Squeak Squad was a great game. I liked how it used the collectable scrolls to unlock new moves from ability hats. Some of which blocked off puzzles, giving incentive for finding treasure. Oh, and environment interactions were neat too.

We can all agree that Squeak Squad has the best version of Sleep after the scroll, am I right?

I'll have to give Crystal Shards (and DL3) another fair shot again when I replay them.

Mixing abilities was awesome, but I wasn't too fond of the level design and going back to a simpler moveset.

I also have the urge to replay Canvas Curse this summer. That game was the game to make me enjoy how you can use the touchscreen for games. A lot of fond memories of it.

Fire Sword was my favorite too, also because it was cool.

Yeah, Fridge is absolutely useless outside of spitting out food to my knowledge. But it's derpy and silly and I love it so much.

I love every single Kirby game I have played, which is quite a bit.

Ironically enough, it's not even on my top five favorite Kirby games.

Super Star (Ultra) is propably my favorite. Full movesets, the controls, the different modes and the size of the game.

I have Mixed opinion on Crystal Shards.
I love the power mixing system and would really like to see it again. Like how the feels more like a world and not just levels and I like the bosses.
I dislike it's sluggish controls (and some of the level design that comes from that) and the limited movesets. And these are things which make what I like about the game much less fun.
