hey so i didn't notice a thread for kirby doubles discussion, so i thought it would be o.k. to make a new thread. if not, i sincerely apologize. anyway, has anyone ever considered the shulk and kirby as a team? with team attack on, and i did test this, kirby can swallow shulk and absorb his monado, essentially giving kirby one of the best neutral b's for him in the game. ive been practicing with a friend of mine, and the potential for this team is insane, as they can both change based on the battle situation involved with the monado's and kirby can become Terrifying offstage (Jump kirby can do whatever the hell he wants to you offstage). i believe that this team is a high skill:high tier team, as it would take some time to master monado kirby. but the amount of depth and versatility to this team is scary good. has this ever been thought of before? if it has, has any team ever tried it? and if that is a yes as well, did any team try it out at a tournament and placed well? thank you in advance for your response and for reading.

p.s. i play shulk, so i was thinking of a good teammate for him when i thought of this.

Ooooo sounds dangerous. Cool! even though I don't play doubles that sound like the dream team.

I've thought of this before but haven't really tested it out. The best ranked player in my area plays Shulk as a secondary... I think I have some convincing to do.

(Monado Kirby is God, Monado speed Kirby allows for easy Fair wall of pains, Buster Kirby can lead to inescapable (I think) Dair comboes. Also since armor Shulk is the heaviest character in the game, Spitting him out is basically a Falcon Punch with a moving Hitbox.
<From a thread I made a while back but my Favorite part about Kirby teams is spitting your team mate out at your opponent, and the heavier the ally, the more damage.
Also, they almost never see it coming.

I don't know any good Shulks in my area but I have tried this out with people's pocket Shulks before.

Buster Kirby is my favorite; his low % combos are godlike, uptilt juggles for days
Speed is a close second for me; on top of wall of pain options you can get grabs and gimps a lot easier to get, I imagine fthrow options are too with the recent buff
Jump Monado + 5 jumps = the silliest air camping ever
Shield and Smash are good situationally but with Kirby's light weight I wouldn't recommend using Smash at all tbh (its not worth it unless you know you can land the kill, bc you could use the stock and the ability)

Another thing that works is hitting Shulks counter with stone so he can get a nice free attack, but only if neither of you have Buster activated bc then counter can break through stone and hit you

Isn't Vision unblockable? I guess I'm misinformed.

i don't think so, it just does an absurd amount of damage and knockback. sometimes ill f smash with mac, and he will counter, but my super armor will kick in, so i won't get sent anywhere. kirby's stone protects him from the counter as well.i have been practicing doubles with this team, and it takes practice, but so far, tagging has provided some unique team combos and opportunities. kirby is usually the one who gets the high damage racking up, with buster and speed, and can help shulk to stay center stage, by using jump to keep opponents offstage. i find shulk is the one who is the finisher in terms of team combos, and taking the opponents stocks. some people say its not worth having a kirby and shulk on team, for the sake of kirby getting monado (they say 2 shulks would be better), but they highly undervalue how abusable kirby can be with monado. seriously, jump kirby is seriously my favorite, he will MAKE SURE you never get back to the stage.
