Kirby 64-like stages and bosses?

What if we had stages that let you traveled at different angles like in Kirby 64, but it's the same 2D gameplay of Smash Bros:

What if the bosses you fought played like this:

I personally think that this would give a new feel to the Smash Bros.
What do you guys think about it?

I think it would be an annoying gimmick. It would be hard to focus and no one would want to play the stages

I would be cool with this idea for adventure mode, or it could be included for a new vs special mode.

While Kirby 64 styled stages may sound interesting to implement, for a 2D fighting series, not so much.

The idea worked for kirby 64 as it was a side-scroller. Yeah, it may be a good idea for adventure mode.
