Ahoy there matey!!

Do ye care fer Kapp'n in Brawl?

Kapp'n, the manliest of all animal villagers in the Animal Crossing towns. He shows up in his dinghy, setting sail to the island not too far away from town. You say Animal Crossing characters can't fight?
Kapp'n sings some salty sea shanties that'll persuade you otherwise:

"Ye think yer bad
Some kind o' wreslin' lad
Ye've got guts but yer nuts
Don't make me mad

With my turtle-tough shell
I'll ring yer bell
Black yer eye, make ye cry

Wolf O'Donnell, Wart, Ganon, ...I think that's a challenge!

I'm sure everyone was disappointed when they played Melee, and found that it was severely lacking in the oarsmen department. Silly Link and puny Marth with their swords. It takes a real man (or in this case, Kappa) to weild an oar. You need not worry, Kapp'n is sailing his way to Brawl!

Kapp'n did not appear in the background of the Smashville screenshots. So he hasn't been 'deconfirmed', unlike (arguably...) Tom Nook. Kapp'n appears in the newest AC game, Wild World, as a cab driver, but his heart is still in sailing the seas. Nintendo knows who the real brawler of Animal Crossing is, KAPP'N!

NOTE - Don't take this too seriously, I don't think Kapp'n WILL BE in Brawl, I just want to show support. Although, If somehow he does become playable, then hey... I called it.

Animal Crossing Human (I think he would be called Animal Crosser) has much more of a chance. It would be pretty easy to make a moveset for him/her too. Only problem is how they would handle the two genders. IMO if it becomes a huge problem Sakurai would make a male and female team character.

There was an Animal Crossing movie featuring a female character named Ai. Maybe they would base the human off of her?

I know Kapp'n has very little chance. ;) But for what ever reason he popped into my mind today and so I created this thread to support him.

...Isn't Kapp'n atleast a little bit cooler than the human though?

xD As much as I love Kapp'n, it will never happen. He must appear in some form or another, though. Perhaps one of the SmashVille backgrounds will just be him rowing a boat and not really going anywhere? :p

As for the villagers, why not pick gender by picking different colours? It'd be cool if their clothing and gender changed with colour. Kind of like Popo and Nana. But I rather have just one and not both.

Gotta love that beautiful voice. =) Really, though, I'd be happy to see ANY AC character get into Brawl, save the AC humanoid. Kapp'n would work just fine for me!

In Animal Crossing, don't you name your town and your character? Since they named the town Smashville, I bet they'd name the human something like Mr. McSmash or something.

I think 'Smasher' would be best.

Kind of paying homage to the Smash community, y'know?

Can anyone think of a good moveset?

I'm not too good at making movesets. (actually I haven't made any) I figure he would use many oar-related attacks. Probably a headbutt here and there. Maybe use his Boat similar to Wario's bike? He mentions cucumbers a lot so, maybe he could.. toss a cucumber as a projectile? :ohwell: His final smash would have to be a salty sea shanty though! :laugh:

It'd just be for fun anyway.

Kapp'n would be the best choice. The so called "animal crosser" appears in smashville and it would be annoying to have you play as an Animal Crosser when you already did so in every game and there are more in the background. Kapp'n graphics would have to be changed to SSBB style graphics too. He wouldn't be polygon anymore which I think would be a good thing for him.

Indeed, that is what Kapp'n is. Although, since Kappas are not very well-known in America, sometimes he's called a parrot or turtle.

I think the parrot mistake was only made in some kind of manual. He does call himself a turtle in the english version, though.

(Maybe they thought that tan part around his mouth was a beak?)

What about Popo/Nana? You could change from one to the other by changing the color. I think that's how it would be done.

I never even liked Tom Nook or K. K. Slider tho, even before they were deconfirmed.

Hopefully he AT LEAST appears in the background with Nook and others. Hopefully, he'll be an AT at most. :ohwell:

I forgot about Kapp'n until today.
I'm rooting for him now.

Edit: But, he has his drawbacks. Obviously, the fact that he is so minor, and also the fact that he is a turtle. We have Bowser for that.

He's about as minor as Resetti, I'd say. Also, he's a Kappa, not a turtle. :p Technically Bowser isn't a turtle either. :ohwell:
