Kansas City Smash 4 smashfests/locals

[Amazing Ampharos]

We're gong to be hosting biweekly smash 4 events in the KC area (Shawnee), and we'd love to see some of you guys there and get a sense on who in the KC area is going to be playing smash 4 going forward. We're supporting 3DS for now, and we're going to jump to Wii U when it comes out. The first event is going to be on Saturday October 18, and it will be running every two weeks from that point forward. We're starting at three, are going to be running friendlies for several hours, and then we're going to run a $2 tournament that evening so everyone can get their feet wet with some tournament play for this game and newer players can get familiar with playing in tournament without risking much money.

I hope to see as many of you guys there as possible, and definitely join the FB group or post here to let us know what you're doing or even if you're just interesting in smash 4 in KC in general. We want to see smash 4 in KC be HUGE, and we're going to do everything we can to make it happen!

Not that the KC area needs another facebook group, but the page function on facebook that you're using isn't really geared towards the two way communication functions needed for administration. Pages are usually more one-way oriented.

The KSM FB group is already geared towards all the Smashes, with some really exciting stuff for Smash 4 in the works. I'll probably make a tournament administration thread, but let's just say that my staff has worked out logistics for a multi-leg KSM circuit in multiple cities with a top end streaming service to boot

Yeah, we're still Facebook scrubs and probably are not using the site optimally (but that page is set up to let people post on it freely so shouldn't it work on a functional level?), but we really want to start doing some stuff with this game around here as opposed to in Lawrence which is where all your KSM stuff seems to happen. I mean, Lawrence is great, but it's pretty far away from the KC metro area, and I figure we're not the only ones who aren't fans of that long drive but who do want to really do a lot of local smash really just focused on smash 4. That's really our main goal here: to get some stuff going very close to home focused hard on smash 4.

The pages generally don't prominently feature other people's posts. So it would work if your group was super dedicated to not getting notifications to the page, which is why the group pages work better.

Out of all the groups, threads, etc. Do any of them ever go down in KCMO? If not I dont mind some driving and will try to make it on the 18th
