Hello Marth boards, I've finally been able to get a video up of myself, after trying for almost a year. The quality isn't the greatest, but there's quite a story behind it. We bought a DVD recorder a few days ago, and decided that we should spend the night recording matches, so we did. When I brought the disk home, all excited to get the videos uploaded, it turned out that our DVD recorder doesn't record in a format that can be used on the computer. So we were stuck with a disk full of 46 matches we could watch, but not upload.

What I decided to do was play the matches on my computer monitor, while running a screen recording program. The recording process was really wierd, so sometimes the video slows down or speeds up. It also adds a little bar of red text across the top of the screen, hope you guys don't mind it TOO much. ;) The quality is also wierd, it's not really your standard bad quality, it's totally different. The match is still fairly viewable though, and I would really appreciate if you guys could rip apart my style a little bit.

So, now we're stuck here trying to figure out to do with 100$ worth of recording equipment and 46 good matches that we can no longer easily work with. I think we can return the recorder, and I'm hoping we can somehow transfer all those matches...

Well, that's enough ranting,

Kada (Marth) vs. Ikural (Fox) - Final Destination - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtbmHy5yoXw

A couple missed opportunities, a few up smashes that weren't meant to be, but all in all, not a bad fight. I especially love the ending, been trying to pull that off for a while.

Thanks!
^_^

EDIT: Here's the updated videos that I have up right now. They're only Fox vs. Doc right now. Some self critiques, I know that I'm terrible at edgeguarding Doc, because I keep trying to crouch cancel his Up-B <_<. I'm also the worst pill dodger in history, I'm gonna need to work on that.

It's barely watchable. But I don't see why you can't just find out the format, then search online for a format -> mp3 or avi conversion program.

I love this match, you should get match 30 up next, so I can look awsome. :p
My shine spike here is epic, and it was a really good match.
But it was watchable, and it wasn't just that easy to get it up.

If it were that simple, I would've done it, believe me. The thing about the disk is that according to my computer, it's blank. There's nothing on it at all. It's pretty hard to convert things when my computer says they don't exist. I can still watch it on a DvD program, but I can't do any form of conversion at all.

I'm actually fairly happy how it turned out, considering the ungodly quality that I had at the start. I actually had to spend a good 5-6 hours trying to figure out how to make it come out the way it did there. and I've actually had a few people watch it so far and not say anything about the quality, so I guess maybe some people will still be okay to watch it.

About the disk thing: You probably didn't finalize the disk after recording all the matches onto it. Put the disk into the DVD recorder and look around for an option like finalize. It will put it into the appropriate format to view as a DVD on your computer.

It's funny actually, I just talked to my buddy a few minutes ago, and he says "Oh yeah, and I forgot to tell you that we only need to finalize the disks, and if we can't figure it out then the guy down at The Source said he could for us."

Thanks for the advice though, when you're new to the recording business, there sure is a lot that you can end up screwing up <_<. It turns out that part of the reason why we got the recorder so cheap ($69.99 I believe) is because it can't finalize disks by itself. Luckily there are a few ways that we can go about getting them finalized by other means.

Hopefully I'll be able to get up a bunch of videos that actually don't suck sometime soon. And they'll be a lot better. I'll make sure to let everyone know.
