The inputs for debug mode dont make sense. they never work properly. I want to have a normal camera, no hurtboxes nothing like that. I just want to turn off the character displays at the bottom of the screen (pictures, damage, lives). How do i do this????

A key mistake most people make is to forget that none of those combinations actually work unless Debug mode is active. That being when you press L+R+dTaunt. So if pressing Start has the regular "pause" function, instead of the Debug frame-by-frame function, then none of the debug inputs will actually do anything.

That said, if you don't like the Debug mode frame-by-frame function and want regular pause, all you have to do is (1) activate debug mode, (2) activate desired debug mode perks, (3) deactivate debug mode, and the debug mode perks should still remain until you manually go back and turn them off.

So if you wanted to, for example, toggle hitboxes and ledge-grab boxes, the order of commands would be:
  1. L+R+dTaunt.
  2. L+rTaunt and Y+rTaunt.
  3. L+R+dTaunt.
If you ever get too confused and just want to give up, quit or end the match, go to the match options, and set Pause mode to Hold instead of On. That'll reset all settings to default.
