Does anyone use pika's down tilt? i cant find a good use for it, the range isnt much more then his ftilt and usualy i find myself getting smashed in the face when i try using it.

yes. dtilt is used, but not as much as ftilt per se. i use dtilt as a means of spacing, which is uncommon. use it when you need to knock someone back when they are in your face.

Yes it also serves the double purpose of tripping them occasionally, leaving them open for the smash of your choice (I use Fsmash).

I use it for spacing, If they're right there after I misfire a dsmash I'll use it because they're probably charing at me by that point. So I'll hit them, they'll either trip or back away, and then I backwards jump out of there to get ready for what I'm doing next. :D

i used it on DDD today at a tourney. his grab is insane and dtilt was my bf for the match.

Forward air sometimes sets up for dtilt to be the perfect follow up move. Fair leads to different attacks at different times, either Dsmash, utilt, ftilt, grab, or dtilt. Occasionally they get pushed low and a bit far.. and dtilt is usually a better choice than ftilt because if it trips them you can immediately dash into a grab... Then you continue from there. =x

now anther...do you happen to know what causes the tripping with dtilt? is it randon or do you have to tip it with the end of the tail? or be really close? and are you willing to be in a discussion(chat room) with a few other good pika players to discuss stage selections? we have yet to set a date for it.

It's random, but happens more as they're percent is higher. I think. I know I read a thread about it somewhere.

Nope, can't find it. The smashboards search engine isn't very helpful. Yes, I was searching for "Funny Smash Pictures", "Gay Smashers", and You Know you've played Lucario too much when..." when I searched "tripping".

i like dat reason best. butt ive been maining pika for a while and i never really used dtilt effectively which really bothered me.

i have another question, does anyone ever used reg A spam? i mean its good as an edge gaurd move in the corner butt usualy when i spam it a good player will just back up and smash me in the face. i could see it used to trip and maybe smash since there usualy pretty close or dash grab if there a lil farther. its hard though since its being spammed to know when to stop

i use it sometimes...mainly as like a wtf tool. like a person who i am fighting is like wtf just happened? unpredictability.

use it once or twice to trip them, it usually happens, and if you are worried about getting smashed out of it, just do it a couple times til they try to DI back out of it, and when you can see them moving backward, hold shield, or roll back or something, but def. good to use

I actually like down tilt. If someone is pressuring me a lot I just bust out a d-tilt.
