There is no true way to play Smash; Sakurai said so himself. Especially when you’re playing for pleasure, playing with four players and items on doesn’t teach you about life, either.

The one thing I always think is that, if only they used more different stages and items, there’d be a lot more variety in the gameplay.

Sounds like he certainly has a preference though.
